Future professionals met with HR leaders
Istanbul Medipol University Human Resources Club brought together human resources professionals and students at the “Hr Innovation Tech Summit” event held for the eighth time.

An event titled “Hr Innovation Tech Summit” was organized by Istanbul Medipol University Human Resources Club. The event held in the South Campus Conference Hall brought together experienced names from different sectors. Turkish Petroleum HR Department Deputy Head Serkan Sarıtaş, Turkcell Talent Acquisition Senior Manager Begüm Şimşek, Education Consultant Engin Çelikoğlu, AnyTime Product Director Barış Barsan, TRT HR Business Partner Sina Sakman, and Turkish Airlines HR Business Partner Kerem Can Balcı were the guests of the event, which attracted great interest from students. Speaking at the event, Education Consultant Engin Çelikoğlu emphasized the importance of motivation when choosing a career. Çelikoğlu said: “Motivation in choosing a profession is an important factor for both personal satisfaction and long-term success. We confuse goals and dreams when we make our life plans. If you aim to be the best in your chosen profession, success will come with it.”
“THERE HAS BEEN A TALENT SHORTAGE IN RECENT YEARS”
Speaking about digital and strategic transformation in human resources, Turkcell Talent Acquisition Senior Manager Begüm Şimşek said: “One of the most talked about topics in the world of human resources in recent years is the talent shortage and the strategies developed to overcome this shortage. While companies are looking for various ways to find, attract, and retain talented employees, technology-based solutions play an important role in this process. Research shows that some professions will disappear, and some new professions will emerge. This transformation makes it necessary for employees to acquire new competencies.”
“CORPORATE STRUCTURE DOES NOT ALLOW FOR PERSONAL AND DEEP CONNECTIONS”
TRT HR Business Partner Sina Sakman, who drew attention to the loyalty between companies and employees, said: “Today, the concepts of employee engagement and employee experience are becoming much more prominent. Employee engagement refers to the loyalty of employees to their jobs and employees. Employee experience, on the other hand, encompasses the emotional and practical experiences an employee has from the moment they enter the workplace to the moment they leave. Loyalty is often associated with the well-being of people in the workplace and the establishment of secure bonds. However, such approaches remain quite superficial and do not actually correspond to real bonds. Real bonding is about establishing secure bonds throughout a person’s life. In workplace encounters, these bonds can often be temporary because a corporate structure does not allow for personal and deep connections.”
