Program Educational Objectives

  1.  To train competent midwives equipped with comprehensive professional knowledge and skills, adopting a holistic approach to protecting and improving the health of women, newborns, children, and the community.
  2. To train healthcare professionals who adhere to ethical values in line with our professional philosophy, embrace evidence-based practices, respect cultural differences, and communicate effectively.
  3. To train pioneering midwives who continuously maintain their individual and professional development by adopting the principles of innovation, continuous improvement, and lifelong learning.
  4. To train leader midwives who will shape the future of the midwifery profession by conducting advanced professional education and research activities in the light of science and technology.

Program Competencies

  1. Possesses the knowledge and skills to provide services to women, newborns, children, and families with a holistic approach sensitive to cultural differences.
  2. Has the knowledge and skills to carry out follow-ups and services that ensure the protection, maintenance, and improvement of health.
  3. Ensures safe conditions during pregnancy, labor, and birth processes; manages risky and emergency situations, and conducts the birthing process independently.
  4. Provides quality care for the adaptation of the woman, newborn, and family after birth.
  5. Has the knowledge and skills to provide individualized care in case of termination or loss of pregnancy in accordance with national laws, regulations, and procedures.
  6. Performs practices in line with relevant legislation, professional ethics, principles, and standards.
  7. Carries out practices in a culturally sensitive manner in the light of current scientific evidence, technological developments, and current health policies.
  8. Participates in research, education, and projects related to the field; takes an active role in translating results into practice.
  9. Participates in, leads, and provides consultancy for studies related to supporting women in their field of service.
  10. Communicates and collaborates with the healthcare team and all other disciplines in their practices.
  11. Possesses lifelong learning, openness to development, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  12. Has a level of English proficiency sufficient to follow current literature and communicate with colleagues.
