Quality and Accreditation Commission

  1. To determine the activities required to achieve our department's vision, mission, and goals, along with their schedules, responsible parties, and performance criteria for these activities,
  2. To implement the quality management system in the university,
  3. To ensure the coordination of the strategic planning process,
  4. To plan, implement, check, and take necessary precautions for education, research, and social contribution activities,
  5. To carry out PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) activities,
  6. To conduct a situation analysis by jointly evaluating strategic actions, internal evaluation, and external evaluation results, if any,
  7. To evaluate the survey results of the previous year at the end of the calendar year and to prepare the internal evaluation report,
  8. To organize, administer, and evaluate the results of surveys in order to include the opinions of internal stakeholders (academic staff and students) and external stakeholders (employers, alumni, professional organizations, research sponsors, students' relatives, etc.) in the quality improvement process,
  9. Responsible for ensuring the planning and execution of corrective and preventive actions deemed necessary as a result of internal and external evaluations. 

  1. The Professional Practice Commission is responsible for providing coordination so that students can conduct sufficient observations within the scope of clinical courses,
  2. Ensuring the distribution of senior students to relevant practice units so that they can conduct an adequate number of practical applications regarding various speech and language disorders,
  3. Supervising and auditing the observations and clinical applications carried out,
  4. Measuring student, client, and stakeholder satisfaction resulting from the clinical practices conducted.
     

  1. This commission is responsible for creating and revising the contents of the courses in the program by considering professional competencies and stakeholder opinions, and monitoring these changes, 
  2. Entering the relevant courses into the MEBİS-EBYS-Resource Planning system, 
  3. Preparing surveys to determine student satisfaction with the courses in the curriculum, identifying the deficiencies of courses with low satisfaction levels, contacting the instructor of the course to resolve the deficiency, and initiating a faculty change if issues in course satisfaction persist despite these measures, 
  4. Communicating with course instructors during midterms and final exams to determine exam dates, printing exam papers, tracking optical form evaluations, entering grades into the system, and finalizing the exam processes, 
  5. Determining the dates for master's and doctoral entrance exams, setting application requirements for announcements and submitting them to the institute, preparing exam questions, conducting and grading the exams smoothly, and reporting the results to the institute, 
  6. Determining jury members and exam dates for doctoral qualifying exams, collecting questions by communicating with jury members, appointing thesis defense committees, and conducting the exams without interruption, 
  7. Determining dates for thesis defense juries, appointing relevant jury members and reporting them to the Institute of Health Sciences, and ensuring the smooth execution of the examination processes. 
     

  1. This commission is responsible for collecting and updating alumni data,
  2. Preparing, administering, and analyzing the results of surveys for alumni,
  3. Communicating with alumni and ensuring sustainable interaction,
  4. Contributing to alumni events (reunions, panels, etc.),
  5. Reflecting alumni and employer feedback into educational programs,
  6. Attending commission meetings to carry out reporting and contribute to decision-making processes.

  1. Organizes and supervises activities such as communicating with academic staff during midterms and final exams to determine exam dates, printing exam papers, utilizing optical readers, entering exam grades into the system, and finalizing exam procedures.  
  2. Responsible for evaluating statistical analyses related to questions and examinations, as well as creating and auditing the item bank (question bank).
  3. Responsible for collecting and archiving exam documents in accordance with the directive on "Principles Regarding the Retention of Examination Documents in Associate and Undergraduate Programs at Istanbul Medipol University."
  4. Holds meetings at least twice a year and as needed, tracking decisions taken and their implementation.
  5. Reports decisions taken in the commission to the Dean's Office.

  1. Reviewing the files of students who have applied to the Faculty Secretariat for transfer,
  2. Comparing the contents of successfully completed courses taken at the previous university with the contents of the department's courses,
  3. Exempting the student from courses with matching contents,
  4. Responsible for listing the remaining courses outside of the exempted ones and providing academic advising to the student regarding the courses they need to take.

  1. The Double Major and Minor Commission provides advising to students who wish to pursue a double major or minor in faculty departments and works in cooperation with relevant departments.
  2. It provides information about the department to students who wish to pursue a minor or double major in faculty departments, lists the courses they need to take, explains the process, and offers counseling to ensure this process runs smoothly.
  3. It monitors the execution of double major/minor education in accordance with relevant regulations, oversees the continuation of students' education and the fulfillment of graduation requirements, and submits reports to the Dean's Office at the beginning of each semester.

  1. Organizes career training sessions for senior students in partnership with the University Career Office and arranges visits to prospective workplaces.
  2. Plans activities to strengthen communication with alumni and organizes scientific and social events concerning alumni.
  3. Organizes various events that bring alumni and current department students together.
  4. Carries out promotional and encouraging activities for alumni to register on the alumni tracking system of the Medipol University Alumni Association (MEDİMED).
  5. Ensures the tracking and reporting of alumni career developments through the alumni tracking system and the evaluation of alumni surveys.
     

  1. The promotion commission is responsible for identifying the academic staff members who will take part in promotional activities on the dates announced by the University and submitting these names to the Faculty Secretariat,
  2. Preparing the necessary brochures and promotional materials/visuals,
  3. Selecting student guides to assist prospective students during their visits to laboratories and therapy centers,
  4. Ensuring the smooth continuation of the promotion process,
  5. Planning social activities,
  6. Planning and executing the graduation ceremony.

  1. Provides information to students wishing to participate in exchange programs regarding available exchange opportunities. 
  2. Checks whether an agreement exists with the host university for the exchange program the student is interested in and carries out studies to establish new agreements. 
  3. Informs students who will benefit from the exchange program about necessary examinations and application requirements. 
  4. Coordinates official correspondence and administrative procedures for students accepted into exchange programs. 
  5. Assists in establishing communication between the Erasmus office and the student.
     

  1. Organizes commission members in the Faculty of Health Sciences to identify and inform students with disabilities.
  2. Informs students with disabilities about the "Faculty of Health Sciences Accessible Life Commission" and the "Disabled Student Office."
  3. Supports students with disabilities in resolving transportation issues within and between campuses.
  4. Assists in providing accessible educational, research, housing, and social environments, as well as making improvements in existing spaces.
  5. Helps students with disabilities obtain the course materials and equipment they need during their educational process.
  6. Informs the Examination Committee regarding the needs of students with disabilities concerning exam duration, location, materials, and companion assistance, as well as necessary measures to be taken based on the nature of the disability.
  7. Conducts awareness activities targeting the university's academic and administrative staff, as well as students.
     

  1. Responsible for creating and renewing the content of the courses in the program by considering professional competencies and stakeholder opinions, and monitoring these changes.
  2. Conducts examinations within the scope of assessment, evaluation, and self-assessment, and develops and administers surveys and similar methods.
  3. Carries out activities regarding the administration and evaluation of student course feedback surveys, as well as determining, monitoring, and reporting the contribution levels of undergraduate courses to program outcomes.
  4. Manages the monitoring of assessment and evaluation practices implemented in department courses and practical applications, the development of recommendations for improved exam and assessment tools, and the measurement of their contribution rates to program outcomes.
  5. Ensures the review of exam questions and answer keys prior to examinations, the evaluation of exam results by gathering feedback from the relevant instructors, and the implementation of necessary adjustments regarding item validity.
  6. Ensures that commission members prepare surveys to determine student satisfaction with the courses in the curriculum, identify shortcomings in courses with low satisfaction, and contact course instructors to address and resolve these deficiencies.
     

  1. Defines and, when necessary, revises the appropriate methods and tools for evaluating educational programs.
  2. Monitors the operation of educational programs and proposes modifications when necessary.
  3. Carries out necessary studies to align educational programs with the National Core Curriculum, other national regulations in Turkey, and international developments.
  4. Ensures the continuation of positive aspects identified during the preparation of Progress, Interim Evaluation, and Self-Evaluation reports requested by national and international accrediting bodies during the accreditation process of educational programs, and takes measures to correct identified deficiencies or areas open to improvement.
