Aim	To enable social work students to theoretically analyze developmental and traumatic crisis situations, and to apply Psychological First Aid (PFA), triage (KMTDF), and the ABC Crisis Intervention Model through case examples. Additionally, to provide the competency to refer clients to appropriate medical, social, and legal support systems in specific areas such as disasters, abuse, suicide risk, and addiction, in accordance with ethical principles and legal reporting responsibilities.
Course Content	This course contains; Conceptual Introduction: Crisis Area in Social Work, Concepts and Definitions,Historical Development of Crisis and Crisis Intervention,Anatomy of Crisis: Crisis Types (Developmental and Traumatic) and Crisis Stages,Crisis Intervention Theories,Social Work and Crisis: Psychological First Aid and Basic Skills,Crisis Assessment in Social Work Practices: The ABC Model,Triage Assessment (KMTDF) and Implementation on Cases,Crisis Intervention Through Cases: Action Plan and Follow-up Process,Case Formulation, Crisis and Abuse Assessment in Children and Adolescents,Crisis Assessment and Intervention in Schools, Suicide Prevention,Crisis Assessment and Motivational Interviewing in Alcohol and Substance Addiction,Crisis Assessment and Intervention in Disasters, Field Operation,Crisis Assessment and Intervention in Hospitals, Medical-Legal Processes,Cognitive Behavioral Approach to Crisis and Alternative Coping Strategies.

1.1. He/ she defines the differences between crisis, trauma, and normal stress by correlating them with the anatomy of crisis and its historical development process.
1.2. He/ she interprets developmental and traumatic crisis types in the context of humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and systemic theories.
2. He/ she will be able to analyze crisis situations through case examples using structural assessment and triage tools.	10, 13, 15, 16, 19, 9	A, C
2.1. He/ she measures the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive impairment/risk levels of individuals in crisis by using the Crisis Intervention Triage Assessment Form - KMTDF.
2.2. He/ she applies the "ABC Crisis Intervention Model," consisting of preliminary assessment, problem identification, and coping stages, on case examples.
3.1. He/ she uses an empathetic, transparent, and non-judgmental listening approach in accordance with the "Look, Listen, Link" principles in communication with crisis victims.
3.2. He/ she distinguishes the basic principles of motivational interviewing techniques and methods of coping with resistance in specific crisis processes such as addiction.
4. He/ she will be able to analyze preventive and protective dynamics specific to crisis scenarios in different application areas such as disasters, schools, and families.	10, 13, 16, 4, 9	A, C
4.1. He/ she explains the basic steps of field operation management in disasters and suicide prevention and acute phase intervention protocols in schools.
4.2. He/ she compares possible crisis reactions by classifying child abuse, neglect, and self-harm - SH phenomena according to developmental periods.
5. He/ she will be able to adhere to the ethical principles of social work, legal notification obligations, and inter-institutional referral rules during crisis intervention processes.	10, 13, 16, 4, 9	A, C
5.1. He/ she meticulously observes professional boundaries and medical and forensic notification responsibilities in crisis cases involving suicide, homicide risk, or suspected child abuse.
5.2. He/ she refers the client to appropriate medical, legal, or social support systems in situations where internal coping mechanisms are insufficient.
