Aim
The main objective of this course is to provide students with knowledge about the types and characteristics of medical, hazardous, and domestic wastes generated in healthcare institutions, and their potential risks to human health and the environment. The course aims to teach the principles and practices of waste segregation at source, collection, transportation, temporary storage, disposal, and recycling processes in accordance with national and international regulations.
Furthermore, the course seeks to equip students with the ability to act in compliance with legal frameworks in healthcare waste management, and to foster awareness of developing environmentally responsible, sustainable, and safe waste management systems.

This course contains; Introduction and Basic Concepts,Waste Types in Healthcare Institutions,Waste Management Processes,Hygiene and Safety in Waste Management, Zero Waste and Recycling,Legal Regulations and Standards, Planning and Organization in Waste Management,Environmental Impacts of Waste,Waste Management Practices and Case Studies, Waste Processes and Separation at Source,Medical and Hazardous Waste Management, Emergencies and Waste Management,Energy Efficiency,Su Verimliliği.
