| Aim | To explain the general characteristics of the immune system, immunological reactions, immunity, immunological disorders, and immunological diagnostic methods; as well as the characteristics of bacteria causing infectious diseases, the diseases they cause, and diagnostic methods. |
| Course Content | This course contains; Introduction to immunology, the structure and components of the immune system,Innate immunity: Elements and characteristics,Acquired immunity: Elements and characteristics,Cellular immune responses: Antigen presentation, immune receptors, T cell structure and effector T cell response,Humoral immunity: B cell structure, differentiation and effector responses,Immunization,Immune tolerance and autoimmunity,Tumor immunology,Transplantation immunology,Hypersensitivity reactions,Immunodeficiencies,Immunological diagnostic methods,Bacteria causing skin and soft tissue infections,Bacteria causing respiratory system infections,Bacteria causing gastrointestinal system infections,Bacteria causing genitourinary system infections,Bacteria causing central nervous system infections,Bacteria causing zoonotic infections,Bacteria causing nosocomial infections,Laboratory: Types of specimens to be taken from the patient in bacterial infections and points to consider.
