The handover ceremony for the deanship of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University has taken place

A handover ceremony was held at the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul Medipol University.Prof. Dr. Naci Karacaoğlan, who had served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for approximately 15 years, transferred his duties to Prof. Dr. Aslı Çakır. With the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Çakır officially assumed her new role.

PROF. DR. KARACAOĞLAN: I BELIEVE THIS FLAG WILL BE CARRIED EVEN FURTHER BY PROF. DR. ASLI ÇAKIR 
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Naci Karacaoğlan noted that significant academic and administrative achievements had been realized during his tenure and stated:

“For nearly fifteen years, since the establishment of our faculty, I have endeavored to fulfill this duty. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all our faculty members and administrative staff who, through their solidarity and dedication, have brought our faculty to where it is today. Prof. Dr. Aslı Çakır has been with us for many years and is a highly valued colleague who has taken an active role at every stage of our processes. It is a great pleasure for me to hand over this responsibility to her. I firmly believe that she will carry this flag even further. We acted together during challenging periods such as the post-pandemic era and the earthquake process, and I was never left alone. I extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire team.”

Prof. Dr. Karacaoğlan concluded his remarks by expressing his gratitude to all administrative staff who supported the decision-making processes.

PROF. DR. ÇAKIR: TRANSPARENCY AND TEAMWORK WILL BE OUR PRIORITIES
In her address, Prof. Dr. Aslı Çakır, who assumed the position, reflected on her academic journey that began at Medipol in 2013 and stated:

“A highly competent and strong team has been established here. It is a great honor for me to be part of this team and to assume this position today. Throughout my term, I will prioritize transparency, teamwork, and an operational structure in which everyone is aware of their responsibilities. During challenging periods such as the pandemic and the earthquake, we witnessed the resilience of this faculty and its capacity to act collectively. My greatest wish is for this spirit of solidarity to continue.”

Prof. Dr. Çakır also expressed her gratitude to Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Çopur Çiçek, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University, for her significant contributions to quality processes, as well as to all administrative staff, adding: “I will work with all my strength to fulfill this duty to the best of my ability. I firmly believe that together we will achieve many more successful outcomes.”

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Naci Karacaoğlan presented plaques and flowers to Prof. Dr. Aslı Çakır, Prof. Dr. Bayram Ufuk Şakul, and Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Çopur Çiçek.
