Our Communication Faculty graduate Eylül Babur wins award at the Golden Orange Film Festival

Eylül Babur, a graduate of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department at Istanbul Medipol University's Faculty of Communication, won the Gain Jury Special Award in the “Film Schools Student Film Competition” held as part of the 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.

In this year's competition, where 10 films were selected from 34 projects submitted by 75 different film schools across Turkey, the awards were presented to the winners by a jury consisting of Leyla Özalp, Osman Özcan, and Sezen Kayhan. 

Gain Media Communications Director Firuze Abdulazizoğlu presented the award to Eylül Babur, a graduate of Istanbul Medipol University, for her short film titled “What Is the Perfect Measure?” The film, produced under the supervision of Associate Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan Eken, and Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çelik, explores a woman's confrontation with her “enemy” waiting behind the door upon her return home, which is actually a scale. Questioning the pressure of beauty norms on people and the destructive effects of the pursuit of perfection through dark humor, the film garnered great praise for the young director's striking and original narrative.
