Prof. Fıratlı explained how the human body initiates the repair process by using its own blood in soft and hard tissue healing. He explained that wound healing occurs in four stages: hemostasis, inflammation, tissue formation, cell proliferation, and matrix remodeling. Prof. Fıratlı emphasized that platelets play a critical role in the processes of coagulation, inflammation, and wound healing. He also stated that the growth factors contained in platelets have important functions, such as supporting cell proliferation, helping to stimulate protein synthesis, ensuring cell adhesion, determining their shape, and regulating cell migration. At the symposium, Assoc. Prof. Mervi Gürsoy and Prof. Ulvi Kahraman Gürsoy made presentations titled “New Generation Education in Periodontology” and “Molecular Biomarkers in Periodontology”, respectively.
