Medipol rises to the 801–1000 band in THE World Rankings

Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most prestigious academic ranking institutions, shared the results of the World University Rankings 2026, based on the data of 2,191 universities worldwide that met certain international standards. According to the list announced by the London-based organization, Medipol ranked in the 801–1000 band globally. Having been in the 1501+ band last year, Medipol rose in the global rankings, demonstrating its growing academic strength and visibility on an international scale. Among 109 universities from Türkiye included in the ranking, Istanbul Medipol University secured the ninth position.

Commenting on the university’s advancement in the Times Higher Education ranking, the President of Istanbul Medipol University Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk said: “Our improvement in the overall ranking is a concrete indicator of the steady development of our university.

As Medipol University, we continue to build a research ecosystem that prioritizes knowledge production and scientific impact. Our academics’ publications in international indexes, their active roles in interdisciplinary projects, collaborations with industry and technology sectors, and student-centered approaches are accelerating our success.

“THE” PROVIDES RELIABLE PERFORMANCE DATA
Since 2004, Times Higher Education (THE) has been providing reliable performance data about universities for students, families, academics, university administrators, governments, and industries. THE evaluates and ranks universities according to various criteria to assess their global performance and to present the missions and achievements of higher education institutions to its audience.

To ensure comprehensive and balanced comparisons, the THE index uses 17 performance indicators related to specific criteria. Alongside the overall list, subject-specific rankings are also published in 11 fields: Arts and Humanities, Computer Science, Clinical and Health, Engineering, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Business and Economics, Education, Law, and Psychology.
