| Aim | This course aims to develop an understanding of the mechanisms underlying movement, balance, tone, and functional impairments observed in neurological disorders, and to enable students to plan and implement evidence-based assessment and physiotherapy-rehabilitation approaches from a clinical problem-solving perspective. It also aims to promote analysis of the mechanisms of balance dysfunction in various neurological conditions by understanding the nature and mechanisms of balance and postural control. Furthermore, the course explores the contribution of muscle tone to normal movement and its functioning during different activities. The course aims for students to develop effective rehabilitation strategies—within the framework of patient safety, ethical principles, and multidisciplinary teamwork—for common neurological conditions such as spinal cord injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, peripheral nerve injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ataxia, and traumatic brain injury. |

| Explains the concepts of motor control, postural control, and motor learning, and discusses their relationship with neuroplasticity. | | |
| Identifies tone abnormalities (e.g., spasticity, rigidity) seen in neurological disorders and explains appropriate intervention principles. | | |
| Analyzes functional status according to the level of spinal cord injury and plans an appropriate rehabilitation program. | | |
| Selects and justifies evidence-based physiotherapy approaches for neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and ALS/dementia. | | |
| Applies assessment steps in peripheral nerve injuries and neuropathies and develops a targeted treatment plan. | | |
