SURKAM Attended the Istanbul Launch Meeting of the Human Development Report!

Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil and her students attended the United Nations 2022 Human Development Report Istanbul launching meeting hosted by the Habitat Association.

In the report, it is stated that new types of uncertainties are now layering and affecting each other, forming a new uncertainty combination. The quest for far-reaching social transformation, widespread and intensifying polarization, and dangerous planetary change in the Anthropocene are at the forefront of these uncertainties.

However, as Louisa Vinton, UNDP Resident Representative in Türkiye, states, "Despite crises, uncertainties and concerns, we must continue to make progress in human development.”
