Istanbul Medipol University TÖMER Participates in Workshop on the Administrative Structures and Regulatory Frameworks of Turkish Language Teaching Centres
Istanbul Medipol University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Centre (TÖMER) participated in the “Workshop on Administrative Structures, Regulatory Frameworks and Certification Issues in Turkish Language Teaching Centres,” organised by the Turkish Council and hosted by Hacettepe University TÖMER on 23 October 2026.
Bringing together directors and representatives of Turkish language teaching centres across Türkiye, the workshop addressed the administrative and legal status of centres within universities, the regulations and directives governing education, assessment and certification, and the recognition, equivalence and oversight of certificates. The programme, which also included representatives from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Measurement, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM), provided a forum for examining differences in institutional practices and discussing shared solutions.
The workshop topics are directly relevant to Istanbul Medipol University TÖMER’s quality assurance and accreditation work. Clear and consistent regulatory frameworks for education, assessment and certification, well-defined institutional responsibilities, and traceable procedures are essential components of institutional quality assurance. In this context, the workshop offered an opportunity to review the Centre’s regulations and directives alongside practices at other institutions and identify areas for improvement.
Istanbul Medipol University TÖMER’s participation supported the exchange of institutional knowledge relevant to accreditation preparations and the development of administrative and academic processes. The discussions provided a valuable basis for the Centre’s continuous improvement efforts to strengthen educational quality, consistency in assessment and reliability in certification.
