Simulation and Virtual Reality Laboratories

Simulation Laboratory

Our simulation laboratory, recognized as the largest in Türkiye, enables students to develop manual dexterity and acquire essential clinical competencies. The laboratory contains a total of 180 simulation units. Preclinical training is conducted using patient-simulating mannequins equipped with dental units.

Instructional demonstrations delivered by faculty members can be viewed live by students through monitors installed at each unit. This system allows students to work in ergonomically appropriate conditions while gaining practical experience through hands-on performance of a wide range of dental procedures. In addition, students are introduced to the use of intraoral scanners—an essential first step in digital dentistry—during their preclinical education.

Practice Facilities Beyond Standard Requirements

In addition to two Manipulation Laboratories, our students have access to laboratories for plaster work, acrylic processing, metal casting, and porcelain processing, all equipped with modern instruments and devices. These facilities are established as separate practice areas of sufficient size to accommodate all students comfortably and represent educational units that exceed national standards.

Virtual Reality Laboratory

Before beginning clinical practice, students have the opportunity to work with virtual reality training models incorporating three-dimensional digital modelling technology. These systems are designed to help students develop their skills, comprehension, and confidence in a preclinical setting. Through this active-learning approach, students receive objective feedback and gain competence through repeatable practical applications.
