Prof. Haluk Yavuzer, widely regarded as one of the foremost figures associated with child development in Türkiye and who served for many years as a faculty member in the Department of Child Development at Istanbul Medipol University’s School of Health Sciences, guided generations not only through his academic work but also through the original perspective he developed on children and family. Viewing the concept of play as a language through which children express themselves and make sense of the world, Yavuzer consistently prioritized understanding, respect, and a scientifically grounded approach in his engagement with children. With the students he mentored, the books he authored, and the perspective he contributed to society, Yavuzer left an enduring mark in his field, and his scientific legacy continues to serve as a guiding force even after his passing.
