Generative artificial intelligence is shaping the future of healthcare
Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University organized the 1st National Congress on Generative Artificial Intelligence in Health Sciences. The event highlighted the transformative impact of technology across all stages of healthcare, from diagnosis to treatment, while academia, industry, and students came together to articulate a shared vision for the future of artificial intelligence.

Hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University, the 1st National Congress on Generative Artificial Intelligence in Health Sciences provided a comprehensive, multidimensional examination of the transformative effects of generative artificial intelligence in the healthcare domain. Held at the South Campus Conference Hall, the congress addressed in detail AI-driven applications that accelerate diagnostic processes in clinical settings, innovative contributions to drug discovery and molecular modeling, issues of data security and ethical considerations, as well as the new competencies healthcare professionals will need in the future. The congress was attended by numerous academics, industry experts, and students, including President of the Istanbul Medipol University Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk; Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Gülden Zehra Omurtag; and Prof. Dr. Arzu Baloğlu, faculty member of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University and Chair of the Congress.
During the event, the wide-ranging impacts of generative artificial intelligence from medical image analysis and clinical decision support systems to treatment personalization processes and the efficiency of healthcare services were discussed in depth. Industry representatives, researchers, and physicians shared current real-world applications of artificial intelligence in practice, along with their forward-looking perspectives on its future role in healthcare.
