Civil Engineering M.S.

Civil Engineering Master's and Doctorate (Ph.D.) programs have been established within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences with the support of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University.

Under the Civil Engineering Master's Program, opportunities for application and research are available in the fields of Civil, Energy, Geotechnical and Soil Mechanics, Structural, Earthquake, Mechanics, Construction Management, Hydrology and Water Resources, Materials, and Transportation Engineering.

This program has two primary goals for our graduates. The first is to equip them with the necessary knowledge and qualifications to ensure that people live safer and higher quality lives by utilizing engineering science in sectoral applications. Furthermore, given the reality of earthquakes that threaten our lives and economy, there is a need for graduate-level expertise to determine the status of structural systems in our country and to reinforce those in the risky building category in the most appropriate manner. The other goal is to enhance the ability to conduct applied research on current topics and to ensure specialization in the field. Thus, our graduates will be brought to a level where they can comfortably take on roles in project and consultancy offices and construction sites, as well as serve in R&D offices of national and international companies or in academia. In addition to these, special effort is devoted to enabling them to become engineers/researchers who are inclined toward teamwork and capable of analytical thinking.
