An event was organized by Istanbul Medipol University School of Education to celebrate November 24 Teacher’s Day. At the event, changes in the fields of education and training and transformations in the teaching profession were discussed. The event held at the South Campus Conference Hall was attended by Istanbul Medipol University School of Education Dean Prof. Servet Bayram, School of Education faculty members, and many students.

BAYRAM: WE CANNOT TALK ABOUT CIVILIZATION WITHOUT EDUCATION
Making the opening speech of the program, Prof. Bayram said that education aims to provide added value by teaching people and society the necessary knowledge. Noting that the teaching profession is sacred, Bayram said: “Education ensures the reinforcement of virtuous feelings and thoughts that are inherent in human beings. The direction our world is heading today is very sad. Proper education is needed more than ever. Undoubtedly, the concepts of education, culture, and civilization are universal, and education is the basis of every element we see in the name of civilization and culture in different geographies today. It is not possible for us to talk about development and civilization without education. Likewise, education is the basis of all values, such as life, homeland, love of nation, freedom, faith, and peace.”

ASSIST. PROF. ACARBAY: TEACHERS PLAY A VITAL ROLE FOR SOCIETY
In her speech, School of Education Assist. Prof. Faika Yelda Acarbay said that teachers have played a vital role in shaping society since the first years of the Republic. Emphasizing that teachers should be given the necessary value not only on special occasions but at all times, Acarbay continued as follows: “It is our responsibility to develop an education system in line with universal needs. Teachers are people who constantly work behind the scenes, inspiring students, and empowering people to achieve their best. It is our duty to discover and reveal the potential of students in the classroom. In this sense, I congratulate the day of all teachers who contribute to education.”
