Medipol students return from the Medical Physics Congress with an award
Students from the Department of Health Physics at Istanbul Medipol University stood out with their scientific work by presenting oral and poster presentations at the 20th National Medical Physics Congress. At the congress, graduate student Kerime Selin Ertaş was awarded the “Best Student Work” prize.

Students from Istanbul Medipol University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Physics, attended the 20th National Medical Physics Congress (UMFK 2025), held in Kuşadası between 6–9 November 2025. During the congress, which took place in Aydın, Medipol students shared their research with the scientific community through oral and poster presentations.
At the event, our student Emre Taş delivered an oral presentation titled “The Effect of HU/ED Curves Obtained from Different CT Devices and Scanning Protocols on Dose Distribution in Head and Neck Patients.” Kerime Selin Ertaş also presented her study titled “Dosimetric Evaluation of the Use of Synthetic CTs Generated by Velocity in Adaptive Radiotherapy for Head and Neck Treatments.”
In the poster presentation sessions, Burak Özyürek participated with his study “Investigation of the Angular Dependence of the MatriXX Resolution 2D-Array System,” while Yasemin Karapınar presented her research titled “Evaluation and Scoring of SRS/SRT Plans Using Machine Learning.” The students were accompanied at the congress by Dr. Mustafa Çağlar, faculty member of Istanbul Medipol University’s Department of Health Physics.
Additionally, master’s student Kerime Selin Ertaş received the “Best Student Research in Radiotherapy Physics” award at the congress.
