Medals were awarded at the Science Olympiads

The second edition of the Science Olympiads, hosted by Istanbul Medipol University, brought together more than 350 high school students from across Türkiye. In competitions held in the fields of Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, students demonstrated their knowledge and skills, and the gold medals were awarded to their recipients.

 

Organized through the collaboration of Istanbul Medipol University School of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the International School of Medicine, the second Science Olympiads were held at the South Campus Conference Hall. In the event, which attracted more than 350 students from various high schools across Türkiye, participants competed rigorously in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry. Among the attendees were Prof. Mehmet Kemal Özdemir, Vice Dean of the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University; Abdullah Akif Çelikkaya, who served as both a member and the head of the Olympiad committee; officials from the Ministry of National Education; as well as academics, advisor teachers, students, and their families.

The event, hosted by Istanbul Medipol University, aimed to enhance high school students’ scientific reasoning skills, enable them to showcase their academic competencies, and provide them with an opportunity to experience a competitive scientific environment. The organization stood out as a significant platform bringing together future scientists. In the Olympiads, which attracted strong interest from students of Türkiye’s leading high schools, participants demonstrated their knowledge and analytical skills by tackling challenging, field-specific questions. Following evaluations conducted throughout the day, the top-ranking students were determined.
 


GOLD MEDALS WERE AWARDED TO THEIR WINNERS
In the field of Mathematics, Bartu Kalkan from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi; in Chemistry, Ela Begüm Çam from TÜBİTAK Science High School; and in Biology, Ahmet Efe Kara, also from TÜBİTAK Science High School, achieved first place and were awarded gold medals. The list of other top-ranking students was shared by the organizing committee.

It is aimed that the Science Olympiads organized by Istanbul Medipol University will continue in the coming years with broader participation and will further contribute to the scientific development of young individuals.
