Graduation celebrations have begun at Medipol

The 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremonies at Istanbul Medipol University have officially begun. The opening ceremony of the 10-day graduation program, held at the South Campus, celebrated the achievements of students from the School of Pharmacy. Approximately 15,000 students are expected to graduate during the ceremonies, which will continue over the coming days with graduation programs for the University's various schools and vocational schools.

The first day of the graduation ceremonies at Istanbul Medipol University's South Campus commenced with the graduation ceremony of the School of Pharmacy. During the opening ceremony, graduates received their diplomas to the applause of their families and academic staff, while the traditional cap-tossing ceremony was marked by great enthusiasm.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk, President of Istanbul Medipol University; Özer Koca, Operations Director of the Medipol Healthcare Group; Vice Presidents Prof. Dr. Recep Öztürk and Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yüksel Durmaz; Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Çetin, executives of the Medipol Education and Healthcare Group, academic and administrative staff, students and their families. 

"OUR GRADUATES WILL BECOME INDIVIDUALS WHO SHAPE THE FUTURE"
Delivering the opening address of the graduation ceremony, Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk, President of Istanbul Medipol University, stated that graduation represents not only the completion of an educational journey but also the beginning of a new path for individuals who will help shape the future.

Emphasizing that universities are far more than institutions that merely transmit knowledge, Güntürk said:

"Universities are institutions that produce knowledge, develop technology, guide society, and shape the future. At Istanbul Medipol University, we continue our journey with this vision. With more than 40,000 students, over 50,000 alumni, our distinguished academic staff, and our international achievements, we continue to grow stronger every day."

"WE ARE MOVING FORWARD WITH THE GOAL OF BECOMING A RESEARCH UNIVERSITY"
Güntürk also highlighted the University's international achievements, noting that Istanbul Medipol University is represented in global rankings published by internationally respected higher education ranking organizations. He stated that the University's goal is to become a leading research university that generates scientific knowledge, develops technology, and contributes to humanity.

He emphasized that the University's ongoing academic and scientific initiatives will further strengthen its international standing and stated that, through its research-driven growth strategy, Istanbul Medipol University aims to achieve even higher positions in global university rankings.

"WE ARE EDUCATING GRADUATES WHO WILL DEVELOP ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE"
Describing the present era as one of the greatest transformations in human history, Güntürk stated that artificial intelligence is reshaping professions, ways of working, and methods of accessing knowledge.

He explained that Istanbul Medipol University does not regard artificial intelligence merely as a technical tool but has integrated it into educational processes across all disciplines, from health sciences and law to communication and business.

Güntürk noted that the University's objective is to educate graduates who not only use artificial intelligence but also develop it, establish its ethical boundaries, and create innovative applications.

"We want our students not to be people who simply follow change, but those who initiate it. Because Medipol's vision is not to follow, it is to lead."

"YOUR DIPLOMA IS THE GATEWAY TO NEW BEGINNINGS"
Continuing his remarks, Güntürk thanked the graduates' families, acknowledging that they had played the most significant role in helping the students reach this important milestone. He expressed his gratitude to all families for entrusting their children to Istanbul Medipol University.

Addressing the graduates, Güntürk described the diploma not as a destination but as a gateway to new opportunities and responsibilities. He emphasized that being a graduate of Istanbul Medipol University means combining science with conscience, applying knowledge for the benefit of humanity, and creating value for society. He also expressed his confidence that wherever they go in the world, the graduates will represent both their University and their country with distinction.

Concluding his speech, Güntürk stated: "The future does not emerge on its own. The future is built by those who envision it and work for it. Today, we are not merely graduating you; we are sending you into the world as the physicians, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders of tomorrow. We firmly believe that graduates of Istanbul Medipol University will not simply witness the future, they will be among those who shape it."

He congratulated all graduates and wished them continued success.

The 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremonies at Istanbul Medipol University will continue in the coming days with graduation programs for the University's various schools and vocational schools. Throughout the 10-day celebration, approximately 15,000 students will celebrate the successful completion of their academic journeys alongside their families.
