Digital transformation and sustainability in education up for debate
The workshop “Constructivist Approaches and Twin Transformation in Higher Education”, held at Istanbul Medipol University, discussed educational reforms with a focus on digitalization and sustainability.

A workshop was organized in collaboration with Istanbul Medipol University School of Education and Istanbul Medipol University Learning, Teaching, Measurement and Evaluation Centre (İMÖDEM) to assess the applicability of constructivist educational approaches in higher education, to identify the problems encountered, and to develop solutions. Istanbul Medipol University Vice-President Prof. Recep Öztürk, Dean of the School of Education Prof. Servet Bayram, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Prof. Gökhan Silahtaroğlu, Director of the Sustainable Development Application and Research Center (SURKAM) Prof. Rana Atabay Kuşçu, academics, and students participated in the workshop entitled “Constructivist Approaches and Twin Transformation in Higher Education”. The opening speech of the workshop, held in the South Campus Conference Hall, was delivered by Vice-President Prof. Recep Öztürk. Noting that digital and green transformation play a critical role in education, Vice-President Öztürk explained that the constructivist learning model provides students with opportunities for critical thinking, problem solving, and applied learning. Vice-President Öztürk said: “While technologies such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality can be used effectively in education, green transformation aims to achieve environmental sustainability.”
