IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING EXAMS

Midterm Exams will be held between 17 – 30 April 2023. The dates of the make-up exams will be announced by the academic units.

  • This announcement is only valid for the "Distance Multiple Choice and/or Classical Exam" that will be made online through MEBIS.
  • In order to participate in the online exams, you must log in to the system from a computer with an internet connection. The responsibility of providing a computer with an internet connection is under the student's responsibility. It is not recommended to use tablets and mobile phones. In case of use, the risks of technical problems are under the student’s responsibility.
  • Students who do not have access to a computer can take the exam in the computer labs of our University. Please contact your Faculty / School / Vocational School Secretariat in case you are in need.
  • You can access our exam system using the address https://mebis.medipol.edu.tr/. The detailed exam schedule, which shows when and which exams of related courses can be taken, will be announced by your Faculty / School / Vocational School within the specified dates. During the exam process, you can take your exams only by entering the system on the days and hours stated on the schedule regarding the course or courses you are responsible for.
  • Time of the MEBIS system is taken into account for the exam start and finish times.
  • You should use the "Google Chrome" browser in order not to have a browser-related problem in the exam. Otherwise, you will not be able to take the exam.
  • You can login MEBIS from only 1 device. If you click on “Log Out” on the warning screen that appears when you attempt to log in from multiple device, the session on your active device will be terminated and you will not be able to continue the exam. You can continue your exam from the last device you logged in to until your exam period expires.
  • In the proctored exams, the exams of the students who complete the exam from MEBIS without joining the TEAMS exam team will be invalid.
  • You must join the allocated exam team which is sent to you 30 minutes before the start of the proctored exams. Keeping your student IDs with you, as ID checks will also be carried out in proctored exams. Students who do not have a student ID must obtain a student certificate from e-Devlet or MEBIS before the exam week and have it ready for the exam time.
  • Since the exam questions are confidential, you are obliged to be alone during the exam and answer the questions on your own without getting support from any resources or from anyone.
  • Copying and sharing exam questions anyhow constitutes a crime under Turkish laws and there is criminal responsibility for such actions.
  • Exams will be deemed invalid if students are found to have committed any ethical violation.
  • If you have a system problem before or during the exam, you should contact MEBIS.

IMPORTANT MATTERS TO BE CONSIDERED DURING THE EXAM

  • You will not be able to take the exam (as in face to face exams) if you do not enter the exam within the time specified as the "Exam Start Time - Last Entry Time" in the activities of your course in MEBIS. In order not to miss the exam entry time, it is recommended to be ready in the system 10 minutes before the exam.
  • Before you can start the exam, you must confirm to switch to “Full Screen” mode.
  • Your exam period starts as soon as you start the exam. When the exam period is completed, your answers are automatically saved in the system and your exam is terminated. In this case, your answers to the questions will be evaluated until the end of the exam.
  • Going back to the previous questions and the questions you left unanswered on the exam screen is prevented. After answering a question or ticking the "LEAVE QUESTION UNANSWERED" option, you can move on to the next question by using the "Answer and Next Question" button. You cannot move on to the next question without marking.
  • The sequence of questions and answer choices will be presented randomly to each student.

Your exam ends in the following situations;

  • Your exam will end automatically if you attempt to exit the full screen 3 times.
  • If you do not click the "Continue Exam" button within 15 seconds on the warning screen that appears when you are inactive for 2 minutes, your exam will be automatically terminated after 15 seconds.
  • If you do not click the "Continue Exam" button within 30 seconds on the warning screen that appears when you attempt to exit the full screen mode, your exam will be automatically terminated after 30 seconds.
  • Your exam will be automatically terminated when the if the exam period, which is determined according to your entrance time to the exam, expires.
  • When you click on the “Finish Exam” button that appears when you come to the last question, the exam is terminated.
  • When the "Finish Exam" button is clicked on the warning screen that appears when attempting to exit the full screen, the exam is terminated.
  • Electricity/internet cut and similar problems that may occur can be determined by the system. If you encounter a electricity/internet cut during the exam period, you can use your remaining time by logging into the system again before the exam period ends. However, after your exam period is over, your exam will end, and the questions you have answered so far will be graded.

If you have problems with your device and connection during the exam, you can continue your exam by following the steps below;

  • First of all, follow these steps if you are sure that you have notused your right to exit full screen twice
  • Exit the full screen mode by pressing the “Esc” key on the keyboard.
  • Close your browser without clicking any button on the warning screen that appears. In this process, as your exam period continues to progress, you need to perform these procedures quickly.
  • You can continue your exam by logging into https://mebis.medipol.edu.tr/ from the Google Chrome browser of the same computer you use or a different computer.
  • If you start the exam again, the questions you did not answer and the order of the options will be displayed randomly on your screen, but the questions you answered will not change.
  • In case you have a bad connection, you can reload the incomplete or unloaded questions by clicking the “Reload” button in the question title area.
  • While you are typing your answers to the questions that may take a long time, you can have it saved by pressing the “Save” button at short intervals.
  • While/If you are writing your answers on paper, you can prevent your exam from termination because of inactivity by clicking on the exam screen at 1-2-minute intervals so that your exam does not end due to the inactivity.
  • You are responsible for the confidentiality of the exam specially prepared for you. You cannot show, share, copy or publish exam questions and answers. You may not participate in such actions by others.
  • Situations that will make your exam invalid are as follows: Having someone else in the exam instead of yourself, getting help from others while answering the questions, taking the exam for another student, cheating in all or in a part of the exam, taking pictures of the exam, duplicating, sharing or publishing the exam in digital media, violating the exam rules announced and notified to the student.
  • The proctor of the course may ask you to take the exam with your camera and microphone open, provided that it is announced beforehand.
  • The student may request a face-to-face written or oral exam from the course instructor. If you request a face-to-face written or oral exam, you must enter the relevant exam from MEBIS on the exam start date/time, select and confirm the option that says "I do not accept, I request a face-to-face written / oral exam for this course." You need to contact the course instructor for the date of your face-to-face written / oral exam. Press the "CLOSE" button after your selection.
