Department of Clinical Pharmacy

Clinical Pharmacy, one of the fundamental fields of pharmacy, is the discipline that ensures disease prevention, health maintenance, optimization of medical therapy, and patient care. Clinical pharmacists are responsible for promoting patient-centered and rational drug use, as well as managing treatments from a pharmacoeconomic perspective.
The research areas of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Istanbul Medipol University include:
1. Patient education, medication and therapy monitoring, rational drug use, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical care, and the role of the clinical pharmacist in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases
2. The role of pharmacists in public health,
3. Oncology pharmacy,
4. Hospital pharmacy,
5. Drug adverse effects, drug interactions, and comparative effectiveness studies.
