Program Information

Aim

The program aims to fill the gap in the Turkish construction sector for graduate training in the interdisciplinary field of Construction Management and Law by providing advanced expertise in this field and training pioneering managers equipped with analytical, technical and managerial skills in the field of Construction Management and Law, with the capacity to work successfully in an international field.

Registration and Admission Requirements

1. ALES (Graduate Admission Test for Turkish Universities) Score may not be required for Non-thesis Master’s Degree programs. If ALES is requested, the base score is determined by the Senate. 2. In the admission of students to non-thesis master's programs where ALES score is not required, 50% of the undergraduate general grade point average and 50% of the full grade obtained in the written scientific evaluation exam and/or interview evaluation constitute the overall success grade. Students holding an undegraduate degree from architecture, interior architecture, engineering and law branches will be accepted to graduate programs.

Graduation Requirements

The non-thesis master's program consists of at least ten courses and a term project course, with a total of not less than 30 credit hours. The sum of the ECTS value should not be less than 60. Provided that at most three of the courses to be taken by the student were not taken during the undergraduate education, they can be selected from the undergraduate courses. A non-thesis master's diploma is given to the student who successfully completes the credit courses and term project and submits the documents required by the Institute to the Institute within one month.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students transferring from other programmes are admitted according to the relevant clauses of Istanbul Medipol University Graduate Studies Education Regulations.

Employment opportunities for students who have succesfully completed the Non-Thesis Program in Construction Management and Law include contract administration positions, construction management positions, and positions in construction law in the construction sector and in the field of law.

Assessment and Evaluation

Success in a course is defined by the course grade. The grade of the course is based on the midterm exam, midterm exam substitutes, such as homework, group studies and similar work, and the final exam.

Learning Experiences

Learning situations aim to develop students' creative, critical, reflective thinking skills and higher level thinking skills such as logical and mathematical thinking skills. In addition, it aims to develop students' meta-cognitive skills.
