There is a need for artists and scientists who are researchers, inquisitors, creative people in the field of Turkish music, who have a strong theoretical background, who are competent in the field of art, who can contribute to the field of art in country and world culture.

Our target as Turkish Music Masterpiece Branch is to train the required staff and to support this field by launching the 4 year undergraduate education which is still limited in our country, within the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture of Istanbul Medipol University.

Today traditional communication methods fall short due to the newborn medias in advertising, public relations, interaction channels.

Constant interaction of traditional media and technology increases the significance of visual communication design as an emerging practice which can solve the design related issues between the product and the target group.

Visual communication designers are capable of analyzing the perceptive, cognitive and physical needs of users with an interdisciplinary approach to generate efficient solutions concerning visual communication issues by using new technologies.

Our aim at the Department of Visual Communication Design is to educate designers who understand and address communication issues in order to combine practical information with theoretical knowledge to generate creative solutions.

As a discipline, Management Information Systems (MIS) is the combination of Information Systems (IS), Management, and Computer Science. So, MIS department is an inter-disciplined program. 

Information Systems has become an attractive professional field as information technology develops every day and takes its place at almost every institution and organization. Merely judging it by job advertisements and industry positions, we may better assess the importance of IS courses and departments at schools that include IS in the title. This discipline is fully supported by not only academic positions but also research and professional journals in IS, international IS associations (eg. AIS, UKAIS,) and conferences (eg. ICIS, ECIS, PACIS, AMCIS) etc. 

Through the program our main aim is to educate and prepare our students for a career in both academia and industry by enhancing them with IS and management knowledge and skills. We teach and train our students so that they may maximize their potentials fully. 

In this sense, our program includes courses like Programming Languages, Web Design and Internet Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence which are all related to IS and Computer science and also courses like Statistics, Production Management, Operational Management, Marketing, Financial Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Game Theory which are related to Management. On the other hand, thanks to our compulsory industrial training program for one semester (8th Semester) , our student have a chance to unite their theoretical knowledge with practice in the industry. 

The continuing trend toward globalization requires that students in business have a fundamental grasp of the social and economic factors leading to commercial internationalization and the management practices required to operate successfully in an international environment.

The impacts of globalization on the economy and financial system also make trade necessary to examine in an international framework. Obtaining the financial resources in international commercial transactions in the most effective and efficient way in order to adapt to increasing commercial competition through globalization and evaluating the current resources in the most profitable and revenue-generating international investment projects is starting to become a core philosophy in international trade. For this reason, the need for qualified human resources who has well-educated in these areas is constantly increasing.

The most important feature of the International Trade and Finance Department is organized with interdisciplinary educational content at the common denominator of the finance, economics and business administration. Therefore, graduates will start their careers as an individual who has the qualification to invest in the international markets as well as being a good economist who has the ability for analytical thinking. Students of this department strengthen their knowledge not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the application of this knowledge. For this reason, internship is very important. Our students can gain working experience during their education and have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in courses by making their internships in foreign trade or finance departments of public or private companies, banks or customs consulting offices. With this experience, they can create new job opportunities for themselves. The program is supported to do an internship abroad, and job opportunities are created through bilateral agreements with international universities and institutions and Erasmus agreements.

Therefore together with human capital, human resources labor is also gaining importance in business not only for private sector but also for government organizations.

The main objective of Human Resources Department is to educate our students with business administration topics and enhance them with human resources issues, regulations and laws. Students have opportunity of completing another BA degree as a Double Major if they fulfil the requirements of the program. Turkish is the medium of education in Human Resources Department. However, courses in English may also be offered to international students.

This growth in financial industry is expected to continue due to the increase in trade volume and services in emerging markets.

Banks are pioneering corporations are the leading industry of growing economies. Banks have crucial role to boost the economy via credit mechanism for individuals and entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, insurance companies manage risks of individuals and firms in the market economy. The insurer is equipped with the skills and talents of all transactions required by insurance activities. 

The increasing role of Banking and Insurance in today’s globalized world economy enhances the characteristics of industry and provides career opportunities day to day. Banking and Insurance Industry with its career potential grows two times in the last decade. In addition to this, new business and career opportunities are also increasing recently. In our department of Banking and Insurance, it is aimed to provide our students with the skills and talents which are required by industry and prepare our students as strong candidates of future executive members of boards and top management in the field. Our curriculum in the department of Banking and Insurance has been designed to respond the latest economic and business issues in the industry. Based on its requirement, the courses related to economy, finance, and management are available for our students to provide them with skills and talents. With this well designed curriculum, our student may monitor the latest ongoing advances or changes in capital markets at globally. Our students completing the 4 years-basis curriculum with advanced training program and academic activities in the field, will be specialized. Moreover, the skill transfer from industry to our students will be empowered with a full training in the last semester before graduation. 

We believe that our students with sophisticated academic background and skills transferred from the sector will deserve their place in banking and insurance industry following their graduation. 

Industrial Engineering (IE) is an interdisciplinary field of engineering that applies science, mathematics, and engineering methods to complex systems which basically involves human, material, and machine parts.

So rather than applying skills to very specific areas, industrial engineers have the opportunity to work in a variety of businesses fields from manufacturing to service industries with help of their strong education that supports building a foundation of science, mathematics, economics, and engineering principles that prepares them achieve a standpoint at solving a wide variety of problems. The curriculum of IE focuses on teaching key notions to students about planning and optimization of production and manufacturing processes together with productivity and quality improvement by considering human factors and supporting systems thinking.

Thus, besides the technical perspective, IE program also gives students the ability of looking at problems from the managerial point of view for monitoring the overview of the whole systems picture. Like all other engineering programs in the School of Engineering and Natural Science, students are required to do summer internship after their fourth and sixth semester to practice their knowledge. The graduates of the department may work in many areas including security, transportation, energy, and manufacturing industries. Industrial engineers also apply their skills and knowledge in various fields, such as health care, retail, utilities, information systems, financial, and other service industries. Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Medipol University allows you to see the big Picture of engineering and use communication skills to bring people, machines, materials, information and energy together in a harmony using collaboration between industry and academia. We make this possible at Medipol, since we have established cross-departmental collaborations.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul Medipol University was established in 2014.

Our department provides individual oriented education with few selected students, aiming to have graduates with fully equipped, aware of the importance of life-long learning and open to improvement, through an education program that emphasizes hands-on learning, involves undergraduate students in research projects, and promoting creativity. Our department, with its a growing number of experienced and dynamic faculty members, is aiming to be a leader in both research and education. Our faculty members and graduates contribute to the development of science and technology and address the needs of our country through collaboration with national and international industry, state agencies, and research labs.
