Accreditation Processes in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Discussed at Medipol TÖMER Talks

Istanbul Medipol University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) hosted an online seminar titled “Accreditation Processes in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language” as part of its “TÖMER Talks” series, featuring Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Deputy Director of Gazi University TÖMER and Secretary of the Language Education Accreditation Board (DÖDAK).

Held online on October 27, 2026, the seminar addressed quality assurance and accreditation processes in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The discussion highlighted the importance of implementing educational activities in Turkish language teaching centers in accordance with established quality standards, as well as institutional self-evaluation, assessment and evaluation practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

During the seminar, it was emphasized that accreditation processes extend beyond merely meeting predefined standards. They also play a significant role in sustainably enhancing educational quality, strengthening institutional operations, and promoting a culture of quality assurance.

Aiming to contribute to the development of quality-oriented approaches in teaching Turkish as a foreign language, the event provided a valuable platform for academics and professionals in the field to exchange knowledge and experiences.
