Dr. Yerlikaya received an international research invitation from France

Asst. Prof. Şerife Yerlikaya from the Istanbul Medipol University Vocational School of Health Services has achieved international recognition through her research in electrophysiology and ion channels. She has been invited as a Visiting Researcher to participate in the research project titled "Purinergic Signalling in the Phenotypic Switch Between Cardiac Fibroblasts During the Ischemia Reperfusion Injury" conducted by the ISCHEMIA Laboratory at Tours University in France. As part of this appointment, Dr. Yerlikaya has also been granted official guest researcher status through the European Union-supported researcher mobility networks EURAXESS France and EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion.

TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROJECT WITH HER EXPERTISE IN ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY
Under the invitation officially approved by the Academic Council of Tours University, Dr. Yerlikaya will participate in the project investigating the purinergic signaling mechanisms involved in the phenotypic switch of cardiac fibroblasts during ischemia-reperfusion injury. Drawing on her expertise in electrophysiology, she will contribute to the research team, particularly in conducting experimental studies and evaluating the data obtained.

Having conducted research for many years on electrophysiology, ion channels, and cellular electrical signaling mechanisms, Dr. Yerlikaya is expected to strengthen the project's experimental framework through her scientific expertise. The international collaboration aims to improve understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying ischemia-reperfusion injury in cardiac tissue and provide a scientific foundation for the development of future therapeutic approaches.
