Successful debut for Medipol in triathlon
Istanbul Medipol University secured fifth place in the team standings at the Turkish Interuniversity Sports League (UNILIG) Triathlon Championship, marking a successful debut in the competition.

The UNILIG Triathlon Championship was held in Antalya, featuring swimming (750 meters), cycling (20 kilometers), and running (5 kilometers) stages. A total of 39 athletes from 11 universities competed in the men's category. Competing in the championship for the first time, Istanbul Medipol University achieved an impressive fifth-place finish in the team rankings. The university was represented by Berkant Taşcı, Mehmet Işık, and Ömer Salih Karaosman.
Demonstrating a strong performance in their first-ever triathlon competition, the athletes successfully completed the demanding course and secured a place among the top five teams in the country.
Commenting on the achievement, Ecem Mine Öztekin, Team Leader of Sports Activities at the University's Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS), emphasized that triathlon is a multifaceted sport requiring not only physical endurance but also discipline, planning, and mental resilience. Öztekin noted that the team's first experience in the triathlon discipline represented a significant achievement and said the athletes' dedication throughout the preparation process, as well as their performance during the competition, provided strong motivation for future participation.
"Our athletes' determination and team spirit were truly commendable. This competition was an important step both for the personal development of our athletes and for strengthening our university's presence in a wider range of sports disciplines. I would like to congratulate Berkant Taşcı, Mehmet Işık, and Ömer Salih Karaosman for successfully representing our university and thank everyone who contributed to this achievement," Öztekin said.
