A step to strengthen entrepreneurial culture from Medipol TTO

Istanbul Medipol University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) has taken a significant step toward strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship across the campus with the first face-to-face training of the “Entrepreneurship Ambassador Program” The program aims to encourage students to take a more active role in idea development and implementation processes, while fostering competent individuals who can contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The “Entrepreneurship Ambassador Program” organized by the Istanbul Medipol University Technology Transfer Office, was carried out in collaboration with stakeholder units including the Career Center, the Office of the Ombudsperson for the Prevention of Discrimination and Equality, the Continuing Education Center, Meta Tekmer, and the International Office. The first in-person training session of the program was held with the aim of disseminating an entrepreneurial culture within the university and training student ambassadors capable of creating tangible impact on campus.

The event, held at the North Campus was attended by Medipol TTO Senior Entrepreneurship Specialist Fatma Gizem Ak; Medipol Meta Tekmer Assistant Entrepreneurship Specialist Enise Aktürk; Ombudsman Officer Fırat Semih Avşar; Assoc. Prof. Tuba Işık, Director of the Career Center; Deputy Director of the Career Center Ceren Gökbudak; International Office Data and Statistics Officer Buğra Gürkan; Medipol TTO Media and Communication Assistant Specialist Gizem Fatma Erdoğan; Medipol TTO Entrepreneurship Incubation Assistant Specialist Zeynep Sude Budak;Assist. Prof. Kevser Banu Köse from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences; and Medipol TTO Lab. Supervisor Yusuf Mustafa Saatçi.

During the event, the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the fundamental characteristics of entrepreneurs were discussed. Key elements such as the courage to take risks, tolerance for uncertainty, effective use of resources, and decision-making ability were highlighted. Various forms of entrepreneurship from startups to social entrepreneurship, from corporate entrepreneurship to small business models were presented through illustrative examples.
