The future of artificial intelligence in design discussed
The second “Artificial Intelligence Summit in Visual Communication and Design,” organized through the collaboration of Istanbul Medipol University School of Communication and Navras Academy, was held. Bringing together industry professionals and academics, the summit addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on design processes as well as its ethical dimensions.

Istanbul Medipol University hosted a significant event that examined artificial intelligence technologies shaping the future of technology and communication from a multidimensional perspective. Held at the South Campus Conference Hall in collaboration with the Istanbul Medipol University School of Communication and Navras Academy, the “Artificial Intelligence Summit in Visual Communication and Design” explored the effects of artificial intelligence on visual culture, design processes, and media ethics through an interdisciplinary framework.
The event, organized for the second time this year, was attended by Istanbul Medipol University Vice President Prof. Recep Öztürk; Dean of the School of Communication Prof. Ali Büyükaslan; Navras Academy General Manager Özbey Doğa Karslıoğlu; TRT Haber Deputy Channel Coordinator Ogün Öcek; Anadolu Agency (AA) R&D and Artificial Intelligence Director Özgür Demir; DMC & NETD CEO Samsun Demir; Assist. Prof. Ahmet Kaplan from the Istanbul Medipol University School of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. İpek Fatma Ertan from the Istanbul Medipol University School of Communication; Adobe Representative Niyazi Yıldırım; Professional Adobe User Selman Kıran; 3D Madmax Editor İsmail Akar; Social Media and Digital PR Manager Yıldız Ertan; and Actor Serdar Akülker, along with industry representatives, academics, and a large number of students.
As part of the event, the competition titled “Artificial Intelligences Compete” enabled students to test the interpretative capacities of different artificial intelligence tools by comparing the visuals they generated using identical prompts.
