Training on “European Union Opportunities and Health Calls” organized
The training, organized by the Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine, discussed the opportunities offered by the European Union’s support programs for innovative projects in the field of health.

A training titled “European Union Opportunities and Health Call” was organized by Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine to explore the support programs and projects of the European Union. Istanbul Medipol University Vice-President Prof. Recep Öztürk, Dean of the School of Pharmacy Prof. Gülden Omurtag, and academic staff of Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine attended the training held at the South Campus Conference Hall. The opening speech of the training was given by Dr. Cafer Yıldırım of Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, and the opening speech of the training was given by Assoc. Prof. Ayşe Arzu Sayın Şakul of Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine. Assoc. Prof. Şakul pointed out the importance of the project support programs offered by the European Union. She stated that such support is provided to improve public health and increase the quality of life and emphasized the importance of evaluating the opportunities offered for cooperation and innovative solutions. In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Şakul said that the European Union encourages cooperation between countries by supporting innovative projects in health, and said: “These support programs not only provide financial resources, but also encourage the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices.” Noting that the training focused particularly on calls in health, Assoc. Prof. Şakul said: “Health services are crucial for the well-being of societies. The EU offers many opportunities to support innovative projects in this field. We all know how great the need for such support is, especially in the times we are living in.”
DR. YILDIRIM: A STRONG PROJECT ECOSYSTEM IS A MUST
Dr. Cafer Yıldırım, a faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, also gave a presentation titled “Holistic Strategy in European Union Projects”. In his presentation, Dr. Yıldırım addressed the policies and strategies of the European Union, emphasizing that these policies do not only support individual projects but also aim to create a broader ecosystem. He explained that European Union projects have a structure that strengthens cooperation between countries, increases information sharing, and encourages innovative solutions. Dr. Yıldırım expressed the need for a strong project ecosystem for European Union projects to be successful. He explained that this ecosystem includes elements, such as bringing together qualified teams, effective resource management, and strategic planning, and said: “The stronger the project ecosystem is built, the more the sustainability and impact of the projects will increase.”
