Prof. Ersoy and Assoc. Prof. Kalkan went to Tajikistan within the scope of BERNICA Erasmus+ Project

Activities carried out within the scope of the Erasmus+ Project titled “Building Educational and Research Capacities in Nutrition and Dietetics in Central Asia” (BERNICA), in which the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the School of Health Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University is among the project partners and the International University of Kyrgyzstan Kyrgyzstan is the coordinator, continue. Within the scope of the project aiming to develop the education and research capacity of the countries in Central Asia in the field of nutrition and dietetics, Istanbul Medipol University School of Health Sciences Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Head Prof. Gülgün Ersoy and Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Indrani Kalkan attended the Tajikistan International Days. In this context, academics visited Avicenna Tajik State Medical University and Khatlon State Medical University. Prof. Gülgün Ersoy made a presentation titled “Sustainable Nutrition” at the international symposium held at Avicenna State Medical University. Assoc. Prof. Indrani Kalkan conducted two interactive trainings on “Energy Metabolism” and “Obesity and Nutrition” at both Avicenna State Medical University and Khatlon State Medical University. The next International Days meeting of the project will be held in Uzbekistan in April 2025.
