Our Women’s Basketball Team advances toward the Super League

The Istanbul Medipol University Women’s Basketball Team achieved a significant accomplishment in the Istanbul Women’s Basketball First League competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF). Drawing attention with its consistent performance throughout the Istanbul stage, our team completed the group stage undefeated and advanced to the final. 
 

In the highly competitive final match, Medipol faced Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. In a closely contested encounter that remained evenly balanced until the final minute, Medipol was defeated with a score of 57–50 and concluded the tournament as the runner-up of Istanbul.

While our team distinguished itself through the consistent performance it demonstrated throughout the league, this result also secured qualification for the Super League Promotion competitions. Following the successful campaign in the Istanbul stage, attention has now turned to the critical matches to be played in Mersin.

Women’s Basketball Team Head Coach Ecem Öztekin congratulated Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa in her post-match evaluation.

Öztekin stated: “The final featured a highly intense game with an exceptionally high level of competition. I would like to thank all of my players; they represented the Medipol emblem with great success. Throughout the season, we demonstrated remarkable dedication and determination. Advancing to the final undefeated is a significant indicator of our development. We have now shifted our full focus to the Super League Promotion competitions that will take place in Mersin. Our objective is to maintain this momentum and secure a place among the teams competing in the top division.”
