Assoc. Prof. Başak Gezmen: Artificial intelligence should be a supportive tool in education
In her statement to Anadolu Agency, Assoc. Prof. Başak Gezmen, the School of Communication faculty member, stated that artificial intelligence should be used as a supportive tool in education and emphasized that studies based solely on artificial intelligence will not yield accurate results.
Assoc. Prof. Başak Gezmen, the Head of the Department of New Media and Communication Systems at the School of Communication, made statements to Anadolu Agency. Assoc. Prof. Gezmen stated that artificial intelligence would not be sufficient as a working method on its own and said: “As an efficient and supportive tool that speeds up literature searches, artificial intelligence should of course be used as a tool. Within the large data set we call big data, it has become difficult to find and extract data that is directly related to us and our field. Therefore, artificial intelligence and algorithms can be used as supporting tools. When we define a specific area for our work, we can obtain data much faster and more efficiently thanks to artificial intelligence.”
