Architect Selim Yuhay: I aim to touch hearts in every project

Organized by by the Media and Communication Club of the School of Communication at Istanbul Medipol University, the event took place at the South Campus Conference Hall. Presenter and author Yelda Kırçuval, entrepreneur Mert Güler, digital content producer and mechatronic engineer Duru Önver, architectural designer and presenter Selim Yuhay shared their experiences in various fields with the students.

YELDA KIRÇUVAL: CHASE YOUR DREAMS  
Stating that she has been in the media sector since the age of seventeen, Kırçuval expressed the importance of not giving up in the face of criticism and obstacles and said: “The dreams you have determine the path of the whole story you will experience in your life. Criticism and difficulties are actually there to guide you.” Sharing parts of her own career journey, Kırçuval touched on the importance of dreaming in the face of the difficulties of the media and said: “Following your dreams is perhaps the most difficult step, but also the most rewarding. Don’t let criticism make you give up. Every criticism is a lesson for you. It is a step that makes you stronger and helps you chart your path. Follow your dreams because those dreams are the most valuable element that makes you who you are.”

ARCHITECT SELİM YUHAY: ARCHITECTURE IS ABOUT TOUCHING EMOTIONS 
Architectural designer and television programmer Selim Yuhay, who explained that architecture is not only the aesthetics of buildings but also an art that touches people’s hearts, said: “Although I hear different opinions on social media about how effective my final touches are, I aim to touch hearts with each of my projects because architecture is not just about providing people with space, it is about making their dreams come true. To be the architect of hearts has been my biggest goal. I try to keep people’s quality of life and feelings at the forefront of every project, so I pay great attention to details. Every detail is part of a story.”
