The 9th Psychological Counseling and Guidance Days, hosted by Istanbul Medipol University School of Education, started at our Kavacık Campus. Former Minister of Youth and Sports and AK Party Izmir Deputy Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who was the guest at the opening of the two-day event, said: “Today, there is a virtual world that disconnects us from the realities of life. I believe that science and the community of Psychological Counseling and Guidance will shed light on how we can better manage virtual threats.”
Istanbul Medipol University Psychological Counseling and Guidance Club organized “Psychological Counseling and Guidance Days” for the 9th time. The event, which was held with the theme of “Youth, Looking into the Future, and Well-Being”, focused on the topics of positive psychology, psychological health, youth, narrative therapy, metacognitive psychological help, and communication. The opening speeches of the event held at the South Campus Conference Hall were made by former Minister of Youth and Sports and AK Party Izmir Deputy Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, our Dean of the School of Education Prof. Servet Bayram, and Assoc. Prof. Nadire Gülçin Yıldız.
DR. KASAPOĞLU: PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE IS A FIELD THAT BEARS RESPONSIBILITY FOR INSTILLING COMPASSION
In his opening speech, Kasapoğlu emphasized the importance of Psychological Counseling and Guidance and said: “Today, we are faced with a human profile trying to cope with many challenges. Therefore, we are in a period in which psychological counseling and guidance increases its significance and its mission gains importance day by day. I see that you are also aware of this meaningful responsibility. The Israeli atrocities in Palestine have shown us once again that the age we live in is a cruel era. Humanity needs compassion and conscience. In this sense, psychological counseling and guidance is a field that bears responsibility for instilling compassion.”
