SPRING TERM COURSE SELECTION PROCESS

The date ranges for course selection in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year are shown in the table below, and course selection procedures will be carried out through MEBIS.

Important:

• If you have a tuition fee debt, the course selections you make through MEBİS cannot be assigned to you. 
• Since the courses you have chosen will not be assigned to you until your debt is paid, you need to solve your problem by applying to the Student Accounting Unit of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs.
• You cannot attend any classes, practices, internships, or take exams without registering for a course. Continuing by manually writing your name on the existing class lists does not mean that you have chosen that course and it has no validity.

Course Taking Procedures

• Compulsory Courses: Shows the courses that must be taken in order to graduate.
• Common Compulsory Courses (Turkish Language-I and II/Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution-I and II)
• Elective Courses Depending on the Program: Elective Courses Taken in the 5th Grade
• Courses/Internships You Failed
• Optional Elective Courses (General Knowledge, Hobby, etc.)
• Courses from Another Department

On the Select Course Screen, under the headings above, there are courses that will be taught at our Faculty in the Spring Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, internships that will be given, and courses/internships that you have to retake after failing.

1st year students must choose Common Compulsory Courses.

Among the compulsory courses, Turkish Language-I and II and Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution-I and II are given through distance education (Online).

Our students who will take Elective Courses must choose from the courses listed under the Elective Courses heading. Elective Courses will be offered in Kavacık and Haliç Campuses in the Spring Term of the 2023-2024 academic year. Since students will be placed according to quotas, preferences should be made accordingly. Elective Courses that have been previously taken and successfully passed can be re-selected only for the purpose of improving grades. Definitions of abbreviations are given below.

K/P-2              Kavacık Campus/Lesson given on Thursday afternoon

K/CTS-1         Kavacık Campus/Lesson given before noon on Saturday

H/C-2              Haliç Campus/Lesson given on Friday afternoon

H/CTS-1         Haliç Campus/It refers to the lesson given before noon on Saturday.

If the Elective Course selected from the "Failed" courses tab is not offered in the relevant period, you can choose it by matching another course during the course add/drop period. In this case, your responsibility for the course you failed will be eliminated. After double-checking whether the selected courses are in the "selected" tab, you need to direct your course selection request to the page where the advisor will approve the registration process by selecting the "student approval" button.

The validity of the course taking process depends on the course selection procedures being approved by the student and the advisor.

Course Exemption Procedures

• After the course taking process is completed, students can request exemption for similar courses taken and successfully completed at other higher education institutions (requests other than undergraduate transfer).
• Documents (transcripts, course contents) of the courses for which exemption will be requested must be submitted to the Dean's Office as an annex to the "Exemption Application Form".
• Students must attend the relevant course until the exemption process is finalized.
• If the exemption procedures are completed by the end of the course taking and withdrawal period (23.02.2024), the relevant student will be able to enroll in a new course(s) that will be deemed appropriate by the Advisor Faculty Member.
