Introduction to Design - I
EXPERIMENTAL PRELIMINARY STUDIES IN DESIGN
Four introductory design exercises: Passage, Cube, Packaging, and Topography.
INITIAL CONCEPTUAL DESIGN EXERCISES
This is an introductory course serving as the backbone of the design studios, which constitute the core of architectural education. It aims to enable students to explore design potentials within specific frameworks, where design decisions are made on a more abstract plane, constraints are less rigid, and environmental factors are integrated into the creative process. The curriculum consists of interconnected exercises structured around modularity, the human body, spatial parameters, and perception.
The course is further enriched through integrated activities such as jury sessions, field trips, and one-day conceptual workshops specifically tailored to the exercises.
