Istanbul Medipol University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences is grounded on conducting applied research. One of the primary goals of our faculty is to contribute to technological improvements and developments by utilizing engineering science to enable humans to live healthier and higher quality lives. In line with this goal, the "Climate Change, Energy, and Health" master's program has been established to generate solutions based on the link between climate change and energy for the environment. Thus, by employing engineering designs, it will be possible to reduce and improve the conditions caused by climate change that adversely affect human health on various dimensions today.

Within the scope of this program;

-The factors that have emerged following the increasing carbon emissions in our world, creating devastating and irreversible impacts on living health and the ecosystem, will be examined; research will be conducted in collaboration with health scientists and engineers to achieve permanent improvements for these problems.
-Research will be carried out to find alternative solutions to ensure reduction in waste (and emissions) generated during the life cycle phase of production, which is a significant cause of climate change.
-Research will be conducted to enhance the quality of unhealthy indoor and outdoor air—which emerges as a result of climate change and directly adversely affects living health—by prioritizing next-generation engineering approaches and redesigning it where deemed necessary.
-In order to minimize greenhouse gas emissions, principles, approaches, and methods necessary for future generations to design, implement, manage, and continuously improve suitable frameworks to produce green energy sustainably and use it efficiently (storage and transfer) will be taught.
-Support will be provided in the field of energy and health-related certifications in the national and international construction sectors, and alternative diversity will be offered to national information programs.
-By providing information on the direct impact of climate change on the health of living beings, students will be encouraged to shape their core motivation for innovative work within the framework of engineering ethics through the perspective of Climate Change, Energy, and Health.

Throughout the duration of the master's program, it is aimed that students;
Reach a level where they can utilize their knowledge and technical skills in engineering, science, and energy sciences with the objective of improving living health and mitigating/eliminating the negative impacts of climate change;
Comprehend technology design, production, management, and improvement approaches that support the conservation of resources to create a clean environment against the issue of climate change;
Acquire the necessary skills to create and manage sustainable, environmentally friendly systems for buildings—the living spaces of modern humans—and for energy, which is a fundamental need;
Be aware of the presence of standards and certifications in these fields and reach the level of knowledge required to obtain accreditation;
Use appropriate methods to obtain information in their scientific research studies, gather information in a goal-oriented manner, interpret it, and gain evaluation skills. In this context, integrate theoretical knowledge learned in classes through in-class and out-of-class projects and interactive group work, translating thoughts into practice with a multi-faceted thinking capability;
Become entrepreneurial, free-thinking individuals equipped with advanced IT skills and a critical perspective.


In conclusion, this program aims to offer an interdisciplinary environment where domestic and international students coming from various engineering, science, and health science disciplines can examine the problems posed by climate change within their respective professions. In this context, it is aimed to equip participating students with modern and competitive knowledge to reduce the negative impacts of climate change and create a clean environment throughout their education, preparing them to become the green environment practitioners and managers of the future by endowing them with innovative scientific approaches and techniques.

The aforementioned master's program is directly related to the issues of our country. In this scope, within the program, it is aimed to:
-Examine the obligations imposed by laws and regulations such as the Certification Regulation for Buildings, Energy Efficiency Law, and Renewable Energy Law,
-Investigate the permanent effects of climate change on human health and design engineering applications in cooperation with health scientists to mitigate these harms,
-Evaluate the use of applications based on models that measure the impact of buildings on human health,
-Evaluate the effectiveness of different policies in implementing commitments in climate agreements, develop greenhouse gas reduction capacity, and determine roadmaps for local governments and sectors regarding climate change,
-Establish a fundamental scientific, ethical, and technological infrastructure to understand technologies that produce alternative energy (renewable energy) and store it (secondary batteries) in order to minimize the damages of climate change, and to impart the knowledge and experience necessary to nationalize these products.
