Waste Management and Environmental-Energy Policy
It is of paramount importance to subject waste to specific processes in order to eliminate its adverse effects on the environment, human, and animal health. In this context, the Waste Management Regulation was published on April 2, 2015, clearly defining and establishing objectives and procedures such as the prevention and reduction of waste generation, its reuse, segregation at the source by type, collection, recycling, recovery, disposal, and post-disposal monitoring and inspection activities.

The benefits of environmental and energy management, which are gaining increasing importance daily, include:

• Mitigation or total elimination of environmental impacts that may arise during emergencies,
• Enhancement of environmental performance and the assurance of energy savings,
• Reduction of costs by preventing wastefulness,
• Increase in productivity and operational efficiency,
• Reduction of environmental risks,
• Raising awareness among employees and students of the university and its affiliates as conscious consumers,
• Fostering a sense of being a "sensitive consumer" among staff by contributing to the development of environmental protection awareness within the institution,
• Contributing to the national economy,
• Ensuring energy efficiency,
• Increasing water efficiency.
