Inter-University Debate Tournament Held at Davutpaşa Campus

An inter-university debate tournament, jointly organized by the Istanbul Medipol University Foreign Languages General Coordinatorship and Yıldız Technical University School of Foreign Languages, was successfully held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Davutpaşa Campus of Yıldız Technical University.

The motion of the debate was “This house would introduce and embrace a cashless future for a better society.” Preparatory school students from both universities delivered compelling arguments on the social implications of transitioning to a cashless world, showcasing their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Esteemed academics from various universities served as jury members, including Dr. Henry Tyron from Aydın University. The jury evaluated the participants based on their rhetoric, reasoning, and ability to structure and deliver persuasive speeches, thereby contributing to the academic depth of the event.

Such inter-university academic collaborations provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop their language proficiency, argumentation skills, and confidence in public speaking. Additionally, these events help foster long-term institutional relationships and a spirit of academic cooperation.
