Dündar: Trump’s cryptocurrency moves could cause a domino effect

Nurullah Mahmut Dündar, a lecturer at Istanbul Medipol University, said that US President-elect Donald Trump’s idea to include Bitcoin in the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) reserves is critical for the ecosystem. Noting that Trump’s statement that he would positively regulate the cryptocurrency ecosystem after becoming president is important, Dündar made the following assessment: “Trump's approach could significantly increase institutional investor interest in Bitcoin. His assumption of the presidency would mark the beginning of a new era for the cryptocurrency market. Trump’s recent encouraging statements about Bitcoin and his ideas that the US should adopt Bitcoin as a reserve asset could have a far-reaching impact on the market. Trump's encouraging policies towards Bitcoin could also have a domino effect on other countries. More countries may begin to regulate Bitcoin and other crypto assets and integrate these assets into their financial systems.”
