                                      HEALTH SCIENCES FACULTY COMMISSION / COORDINATORSHIP JOB DESCRIPTIONS
 

  1. Commission chairs shall be appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences for a term of three years.
  2. The commission chair shall select the commission members for a three-year term from among the candidates proposed by the department chairs and submit them for the approval of the Dean's Office. At the end of the three-year period, unless a proposal for change is submitted, the members of the previous years' commission shall be reappointed. When deemed necessary, commission members may be replaced before the completion of the three-year term.
  3. Commissions shall convene twice a year (every six months). Additional meetings may be held upon the call of the commission chair when necessary.
  4. A copy of the commission decisions shall be filed by the chair.
  5. A report shall be submitted to the Dean's Office by the commission chair at the end of each academic year and additionally upon the request of the Dean's Office.

Commission Duties:

  1. Plans and organizes training sessions regarding the career planning of our students, in partnership with the University Career Center.
  2. Plans scientific and social activities alongside projects aimed at strengthening communication with alumni and enhancing their sense of institutional belonging.
  3. Organizes events that bring together alumni and department students.
  4. Introduces the Career Center alumni tracking system to alumni, profiles the alumni network, and updates this profile periodically.
  5. Ensures the promotion of opportunities offered to alumni in cooperation with the Career Center, and facilitates the regular updating of tracking system registrations and alumni profiles.
  6. Monitors and reports on the career development of alumni by evaluating the alumni tracking system and surveys.
  7. Reports all evaluations regarding alumni and submits them to the Dean's Office.

Commission Duties:

  1. Identifies the academic staff, personnel, and students to take part in university and faculty promotion activities, and manages the organization.
  2. Plans the preparation of brochures and visual materials required for promotion, and monitors the process.
  3. Holds responsibility for ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of the promotional process.
  4. Plans social activities in cooperation with student representatives and monitors the process.
  5. Takes part in implementing and taking the necessary measures to ensure the smooth execution of graduation ceremonies.

Commission Duties:

  1. Ensures and monitors the implementation of the decisions taken and policies determined by the University Quality Coordinatorship at the faculty level.
  2. Ensures that faculty-specific documents are updated and managed in accordance with the procedures and principles designated by the University.
  3. Effectively and regularly uses digital platforms related to quality activities, particularly the Quality Information Governance System; ensures that necessary activities are carried out, and monitors the process.
  4. Prepares the faculty's annual "Unit Internal Evaluation Report" and submits it to the Quality Coordinatorship in accordance with the designated schedule.
  5. Creates the annual activity schedule regarding quality processes.
  6. Monitors performance indicators in alignment with the faculty's strategic plan, analyzes the results, and initiates the necessary improvement activities.
  7. Leads the accreditation processes at the faculty level and carries out the necessary preparations.
  8. Regularly informs academic and administrative staff as well as students about the quality processes conducted within the faculty.
  9. Ensures the systematic integration of stakeholder views into quality improvement processes and reflects the acquired feedback into improvement efforts.
  10. Prepares the Faculty Quality Commission evaluation report and submits any matters deemed necessary as recommendations.

Commission Duties:

  1. The Double Major and Minor Commission advises students who wish to pursue a double major or a minor in faculty departments, and works in cooperation with the respective departments.
  2. Manages the process of identifying shared and program-specific courses and formalizing them into protocols by ensuring communication between programs.
  3. Provides students with information regarding the programs, lists the courses they are required to take, explains the process, and monitors the progression to ensure it runs smoothly.
  4. Monitors the execution of double major/minor education in accordance with the relevant legislation, oversees the fulfillment of graduation requirements, and submits a report to the Dean's Office at the beginning of each semester.

Commission Duties:

  1. Develops projects, events, and collaborations aimed at enhancing the international visibility of the faculty.
  2. Guides academic staff regarding international research projects and funding applications.
  3. Conducts studies and activities to improve the faculty's standing in international rankings.
  4. Collects, analyzes, and regularly reports data related to international exchange and cooperation processes.
  5. Supports and coordinates international student and academic staff exchange programs.
  6. Provides information about existing exchange programs to students wishing to benefit from these programs.
  7. Checks whether agreements exist with host universities for the exchange programs students are interested in, and works toward establishing new agreements.
  8. Informs students who will benefit from exchange programs about the required examinations and application criteria.
  9. Coordinates the official correspondence and procedures for students accepted into exchange programs.
  10. Advises students during their course selection processes, assists in determining appropriate courses, and coordinates the necessary approval procedures.
  11. Examines ECTS and grade conversion documents for courses taken abroad, coordinates course equivalence and adaptation procedures, and submits the necessary evaluations to the relevant units.

Commission Duties:

  1. Organizes and oversees activities such as determining exam dates by communicating with academic staff, printing exam papers, utilizing optical mark readers, and finalizing the processes by entering exam grades during the midterm, final, makeup, excuse, three-course, and maximum duration end-of-term examination periods.
  2. Coordinates and supervises the evaluation of statistical analyses related to questions and exams, as well as the establishment of a question bank.
  3. Monitors the processes for collecting and securing examination documents within the scope of the "Principles Regarding the Retention of Examination Documents in Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs of Istanbul Medipol University," and takes the necessary measures.
  4. Convenes at least twice a year and when deemed necessary, and monitors the decisions taken along with their implementation.
  5. Submits the decisions taken by the commission to the Office of the Dean.

  Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee
 

  1. Evaluation and Self-Assessment: Conducts examinations within the scope of measurement, evaluation, and self-assessments; develops and implements surveys and similar methodologies.
  2. Curriculum Evaluation: Defines appropriate methods and tools for evaluating the educational curriculum and implements necessary adjustments.
  3. Course & Program Outcomes: Manages the administration and evaluation of student course assessment surveys; determines, monitors, and reports the contribution rates of undergraduate curriculum courses to the overall program outcomes.
  4. Assessment Optimization: Oversees the monitoring of systems applied in the measurement and evaluation of department courses and practical applications; formulates recommendations for developing better exams and assessment tools; and manages the measurement of contribution rates to program outcomes.
  5. Exam Quality Control: Ensures that exam questions and answer keys are reviewed prior to examinations; evaluates exam results by gathering feedback from the respective instructors; and facilitates necessary adjustments regarding the validity of the questions.
  6. Quality Assurance & Analytics: In alignment with quality assurance standards in education, manages the integration of the Academic Exam Automation System (ASOS); coordinates the creation of question banks aligned with course learning outcomes and professional competencies through the system; and provides data for curriculum improvement processes by reporting exam validity, reliability, and item analysis results (e.g., discrimination index, difficulty level).
  7. Student Satisfaction & Continuous Improvement: Designs surveys to determine student satisfaction regarding the courses in the curriculum; identifies the shortcomings of courses with low satisfaction levels; and coordinates with the respective instructors to ensure these deficiencies are resolved.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee

  1. Curriculum Design & Review: Responsible for designing and updating course contents based on professional competencies and stakeholder feedback, as well as monitoring these modifications.
  2. ECTS & Workload Analysis: Analyzes student workload survey results to detect discrepancies between the defined ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits and the real-time student workload; develops improvement recommendations for courses with credit-workload mismatches.
  3. Annual Curriculum Audit: Conducts regular annual reviews of department curricula in light of national standards, professional developments, and current legal regulations in Turkey.
  4. Innovative Educational Models: Leads the dissemination of student-centered, evidence-based contemporary educational models across the faculty.
  5. Program Evaluation Tools: Defines appropriate evaluation methods and instruments to measure the quality of educational programs, and revises them when necessary.
  6. Process Monitoring & Improvement: Closely monitors the operational processes of educational programs and formulates improvement and modification proposals for any malfunctioning aspects.
  7. Material Quality Control: Inspects the academic adequacy and compliance with standards of course resources, laboratory manuals, and digital educational materials.
  8. National & International Alignment: Conducts activities to ensure full alignment of educational programs with international developments and the National Core Curriculum (ÇEP).
  9. Accreditation & Self-Assessment: Analyzes self-assessment and progress reports prepared during accreditation processes; ensures the sustainability of identified strengths and the rectification of deficiencies.
  10. Educational Technology Integration: Develops strategies for the efficient integration of distance education tools and next-generation instructional technologies into course curricula.
  11. Stakeholder Feedback Management: Analyzes stakeholder feedback to generate concrete solution proposals aimed at continuously improving educational quality.
  12. Academic Decision-Making: Formulates academic decisions regarding proposals for launching new courses or updating existing content in line with the faculty's educatinol vision.

  1. Strategic Planning & Monitoring: Plans, coordinates, and monitors activities in line with social contribution and sustainability policies.

  3. Promotion & Visibility: Encourages social contribution activities conducted within the faculty; supports increasing the visibility and dissemination of these activities.
  4. Sustainability Integration: Conducts studies to integrate environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles into faculty activities.
  5. Stakeholder Collaborations: Fosters collaborations with public institutions, local governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders to contribute to joint efforts addressing societal needs.
  6. Student Engagement: Plans initiatives that encourage student participation in social responsibility and volunteer activities.
  7. Impact Evaluation: Conducts the monitoring and evaluation processes of the social contribution and sustainability activities carried out within the faculty.
  8. Reporting: Prepares reports regarding the executed activities and shares them with the relevant units.
  9. Performance Improvement: Formulates recommendations aimed at enhancing the faculty's performance in the fields of social contribution and sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee

  1. Strategic R&D Prioritization: Identifies priorities and submits recommendations for the Faculty's research and development activities, taking into account the strategic plan goals and priorities.
  2. Performance Strategies: Develops short-, medium-, and long-term strategies aimed at enhancing the research performance of the Faculty.
  3. Policy & Quality Alignment: Ensures that research activities within the Faculty are conducted in alignment with the university's research policies, quality processes, and national/international standards.
  4. Priority Research Areas: Determines priority topics in research fields and encourages the development of studies within these areas.
  5. Project Promotion: Encourages academic staff to apply for national and international research projects.
  6. Consultancy & Support: Provides consultancy and support to academic staff during the preparation, execution, and reporting phases of research projects.
  7. Scientific Event Planning: Contributes to the planning of scientific events such as congresses, symposia, workshops, seminars, and conferences within the Faculty.
  8. Academic Engagement: Plans initiatives to support the participation of academic staff and students in scientific events.
  9. Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitors and evaluates the scientific publications, projects, and research activities of the Faculty's academic staff.
  10. Academic Capacity Building: Organizes training activities for academic staff on research methods, project proposal writing, scientific publication preparation, and ethical issues.
  11. University-Industry & Tech Transfer: Promotes university-industry collaboration, technology transfer, and research that prioritizes public benefit.
  12. Dissemination & Knowledge Transfer: Conducts activities aimed at disseminating research results and converting them into societal contribution.
  13. Fostering Research Culture: Develops recommendations aimed at cultivating and improving the research culture within the Faculty.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee

  1. Activity Planning & Execution: Plans, announces, and ensures the execution of scientific, social, athletic, and cultural activities for students in cooperation with relevant units.
  2. Scholarship Announcements: Announces information regarding the university's achievement, dining, and textbook scholarships to the students.
  3. Academic Event Dissemination: Announces field-specific scientific activities organized by Department Chairs and other committees to the students.
  4. Student Feedback Collection: Gathers student feedback to determine the scientific, social, cultural, and athletic events to be planned for the upcoming academic year and reports the results.
  5. Societal Contribution Support: Provides support for students to conduct social contribution activities, including informational campaigns, screenings, and educational training.
  6. Student Club Collaboration: Works in close cooperation and coordination with student clubs.
  7. Student Congress Support: Supports activities related to the organization of student congresses.
  8. International Student Integration: Conducts studies to support the academic and social adaptation processes of international students, guides them in resolving challenges they encounter, and fosters cross-cultural interaction.
