The Photography Club of Istanbul Medipol University organized an event titled “From Analog to Digital”. Mehmet Turgut, a world-famous photographer, was a guest at the event held at the South Campus. Stating that his family has been doing photography for three generations, Turgut said: “In the past, there were photographers in the neighborhoods, family photos would be taken on holidays and special occasions. Today, we are in the digital age, everything is faster and more accessible. When taking photos, it is necessary to establish not only technical but also emotional connection. It is important to capture a positive energy and a natural moment in the shootings.” Turgut stated in the program moderated by Dr. Ada Beyza Toksoy that he observes the interaction between the audience and art even in commercial projects. Turgut concluded his words by saying: “Art is also a process of establishing interaction with the audience. I try to create this interaction. Establishing relationships with people and touching their memories are a part of this art as well.”
