PROF. ÖZTÜRK: DISINFECTION, ANTISEPSIS, AND STERILIZATION ARE VITAL
Delivering the opening speech of the program, Istanbul Medipol University Vice-President Prof. Recep Öztürk stated that disinfection, antisepsis, and sterilization are of vital importance in health services. Prof. Öztürk said: “Sterilization, disinfection, and antisepsis are essential practices that play a major role not only in hospitals but also in public health. By preventing infections, these processes both improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure the safety of patients and healthcare workers. Especially in recent years, pandemics around the world have once again demonstrated the importance of hygiene and infection prevention and control.”

PROF. PERÇİN: WE PIONEER THE TRAINING OF CENTRAL STERILIZATION UNIT (CSU) EMPLOYEES
Prof. Duygu Perçin, Chair of the Board of Directors of DAS, said: “In order for hospitals to provide quality health care services, good sterilization units are needed; for sterilization units to work well, equipped employees are needed; and for equipped employees, continuous and renewed training programs are needed. As an association, we are pleased to have been pioneering the training of CSU employees with our trainings, courses, and schools in this field for many years. We would like to thank Istanbul Medipol University for hosting our program today.”

PROF. METİN: EXCHANGE OF PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE IS VERY VALUABLE
Prof. Dilek Yeşim Metin, Chair of the Board of Directors of KLIMUD, also drew attention to the importance of the trainings in her statement to the Press and Publications Office. Prof. Yeşim said: “While the guidelines guide us, the applicability of these guidelines and what to pay attention to in order to increase efficiency in health should be supported by information exchange and training. Today’s meeting is very valuable for health personnel to convey the difficulties in the environment they work in and to propose solutions. Evaluating the problems together will both keep the awareness level at the highest level and increase the motivation of individuals. In this sense, ‘Fundamental Sterilization Training’ will make positive professional contributions to the participants.”
