Israel was protested at the “Silent Scream: What is Happening in Gaza” exhibition
Istanbul Medipol University students protested Israel’s attacks on Palestine on the first anniversary of the occupation with a photo exhibition titled “Silent Scream: What is Happening in Gaza”.

Organized by Istanbul Medipol University Mediterranean Studies Center and the Ombudsman for Anti-Discrimination and Equality, the “Silent Scream: What is Happening in Gaza” event protested Israel’s attacks on Palestine. Our students, academicians, and administrative staff participated in the protest held at the South Campus. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and continued with the press statement of our student Ebubekir Değet.
DEĞET: PERSECUTION IS UNACCEPTABLE
Stating that the conscience of the people of the world was deeply affected by the genocide carried out by Israel in Palestine, Değet said: “People from all over the world have taken a stand for resistance.” Değet continued as follows: “A person is responsible for what one can. Based on this maxim, it is our duty to announce the cruelty that we cannot stop and to try to heal the suffering of our brothers and sisters. We consider the bombs falling on Gaza as falling on our own homeland, and we express that we will not accept this persecution in any way. We will raise our voices and openly take sides in order to ensure that our sensitivities dominate our lives.”
DR. ALRANTİSİ: ORPHAN RATE IN GAZA REACHES 86 PERCENT
Istanbul Medipol University School of Humanities and Social Sciences faculty member Dr. Mahmut Alrantisi emphasized that Israel continues the massacres in Gaza by bombing universities, schools, and shelter centers. Underlining that 125 schools and universities were completely destroyed during the occupation, Dr. Alrantisi said: “2,000 students were martyred, and 750 teachers were killed in the occupation. The orphan rate in Gaza reached 86 percent. The Palestinian resistance made every attempt to achieve a ceasefire. But Israel is preventing this. The Palestinians and Gaza need every effort.” After the speeches, the photo exhibition titled “Silent Scream: What is Happening in Gaza” was opened.
