To draw attention to possible disasters and to take precautions against possible fire situations, an “Evacuation and Fire Extinguishing Drill” was held at Istanbul Medipol University North Campus. The drill, organized with the slogan “Take a 15-minute break from life to stay alive!”, started at 11:30 a.m. with the sound of sirens. As part of the drill, a fire simulation was carried out, and first aid was provided to the injured. In the drill, the staff and students in the buildings quickly reached the emergency gathering areas with the guidance of the evacuation teams after the sound of the siren. Following the safe evacuation of the buildings, a fire extinguishing drill was organized to ensure that measures are taken in case of a possible fire, to minimize the damage, and to act with a sense of duty. After the briefing by the Occupational Health and Safety Office and the Disaster Emergency Commission, volunteers carried out extinguishing activities with fire extinguishers. The “Evacuation/Extinguishing Drill” ended with the announcement to return to the buildings.
