Cooperation protocol signed between Medipol and TÜRKSMD at TEKNOFEST 2026

At the ceremony held as part of TEKNOFEST 2026 Şanlıurfa, the protocol was signed by Prof. Yasemin Yüksel Durmaz, Vice President of Istanbul Medipol University, and Prof. Muhammed Zeki Durak, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Sacide Kasapoğlu, General Manager of TÜRKSMD, also attended the ceremony and took part in the cooperation process.
 

THE VALUE OF INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY ASSETS WILL BE ASSESSED
The protocol will support the valuation of industrial property assets developed within Istanbul Medipol University. Key areas of focus include assessing the commercialization potential of innovative ideas and technologies and raising awareness of patents and other industrial property rights.

The initiatives to be carried out under the protocol are expected to determine the economic value of technologies developed at the University and enable more effective utilization of industrial property assets.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER WILL BE STRENGTHENED
The cooperation will also contribute to translating academic knowledge and innovative technologies into practical applications. The commercialization of innovations developed at the University, the advancement of technology transfer activities, and initiatives aimed at strengthening university-industry collaboration are among the core areas covered by the protocol.

Supporting the University’s technology development capacity will also be addressed as part of this process.
 

MEDIPOL ADMINISTRATORS ALSO ATTENDED THE CEREMONY
The signing ceremony was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Çetin, Secretary General of Istanbul Medipol University, and Dr. Selim Serkan Say, General Manager of the Istanbul Medipol University Technology Transfer Office.

The program concluded following the signing of the protocol and a commemorative photo session.
