Applications for an Additional Exam Opportunity for Students in the Faculty of Education Who Have Reached the Maximum Enrollment Period

•    Under Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, final-year students whose maximum study period has expired are granted the right to take a supplementary exam.
•    To exercise this right, students must apply in person (by hand) to the Faculty Secretary’s Office between September 16 and 23, 2026, by the end of business hours, by filling out the form provided in the attachment.

•    The right to take the end-of-maximum-duration exam cannot be transferred, postponed, or replaced with a make-up exam under any circumstances. Students who do not take these exams are considered to have used their right to the end-of-maximum-duration exam once their maximum duration has expired, regardless of whether they applied or not, and their cases will be evaluated in accordance with the rules specified below following the exams.
•    Pursuant to Article 44 of Law No. 2547; excluding one-year foreign language preparatory classes, starting from the semester in which courses for the registered program are offered, regardless of whether the student registers for each semester; associate degree programs with a two-year duration must be completed within a maximum of four years, for bachelor’s programs with a four-year duration, within a maximum of seven years; for bachelor’s programs with a five-year duration, within a maximum of eight years; and for bachelor’s programs with a six-year duration, within a maximum of nine years.
Accordingly:
•    The periods during which students have suspended their enrollment are deducted from the maximum duration of study,

•    The time spent in preparatory classes is deducted from the maximum duration of study,
•    Students who were in their first year during the 2019–2020 academic year are those  who have reached the maximum duration of study.
•    STATUS BEFORE TAKING SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS
 

1.    Students with 6 or more courses
•    Courses in which they received a failing grade (F1),
•    Courses in which they received an absence grade (F2),
•    Two (2) supplementary exam attempts are granted for courses they have never taken before.
 

2.    Students with a total of 2–5 courses before taking makeup exams
•    Courses in which they received a failing grade (F1),
•    Courses in which they received a non-attendance grade (F2),
•    Courses they have never taken before are granted four semesters of additional time. Students who use their right to a makeup exam are required to attend their practical courses. There is no attendance requirement for courses other than practical courses.
Students who reduce their total number of courses to 1 within the granted extension periods are entitled to unlimited exam attempts and are subject to the rules governing unlimited exam attempts; students who fail to reduce their total number of courses to 1 by the end of the granted extension periods will have their enrollment terminated
•    Students with unlimited retake privileges are deemed to have forfeited this privilege—and their enrollment is terminated—if they fail to take exams offered at the end of three consecutive or intermittent academic years.
1.    Students with a total of 1 course remaining before taking make-up exams
•    Courses in which they received a failing grade (F1),
•    Courses in which they received an absence grade (F2),
•    Courses they have never taken before are eligible for unlimited retake rights.
•    They must take the exams held at the end of the term,
•    Attendance is required for practical courses for which the unlimited exam right is used. Attendance is not required for courses other than practical courses.
•    If they do not take the exams held at the end of three consecutive or intermittent academic years, they are deemed to have forfeited their unlimited exam right, and their enrollment at the University is terminated.  

SITUATION AFTER USING THE RIGHT TO A SUPPLEMENTARY EXAM
1.    Students who, after using their right to a makeup exam, have a total of 6 or more courses
 •    Will be dismissed from the university.
  2.    Students with a total of 2–5 courses after using their additional exam opportunity (students   who have failed, have been absent, and/or have courses they have not previously taken)
•    Are granted an additional three semesters (or two academic years in units where instruction is based on the annual or grade-level progression system) and are entitled to take the exams held at the end of each semester
•    Students who reduce their total number of courses to 1 within the granted extension periods are granted unlimited exam rights and are subject to the rules governing unlimited exam rights; students who fail to reduce their total number of courses to 1 by the end of the granted extension periods will have their enrollment at the University terminated,
•    For courses in which unlimited exam rights are used, attendance is required for practical courses. There is no attendance requirement for courses other than practical courses.
•    Students with unlimited exam attempts are deemed to have forfeited this right and their enrollment is terminated if they do not take exams offered at the end of three consecutive or intermittent academic years. 
    
GENERAL PROVISIONS
1.    Students with unlimited exam attempts are not eligible to exercise their student rights. Students who use their unlimited exam attempts are required to attend practical courses. Attendance is not required for courses other than practical courses.
2.    Students granted an extension must renew their registration by fulfilling their contribution fee/tuition payment obligations,
3.    Students who do not meet the 240 ECTS requirement necessary for graduation at the end of the exams will have their enrollment terminated by the University.
4.    If elective courses in which they have failed are discontinued, students may select different courses by replacing them with an equal number of elective courses from the same elective course group,
5.    Students who pass all courses following the makeup exams must submit their applications regarding graduation procedures to the unit in which they are enrolled,
6.    Students are directly responsible for monitoring all processes.

EXAM DATES:
Make-up Exams After the Maximum Time Limit: December 21–30, 2026
*Since students who take advantage of the make-up exam option will be taking their practical courses during the semester, they are required to attend the midterm exams.

Exam schedules will be communicated to students prior to exam week.

ABOUT MAKE-UP EXAMS
*Students requesting a make-up exam for practical courses, as specified in our Faculty’s Undergraduate Education and Teaching Guidelines, are required to attend the courses.

*To pass the make-up exam, students must score at least 60 out of 100. The grade received on the exam will replace the course grade.
